So I bought a few terra lux

LEDS for my mini mags. I noticed that with the thickness of the board I only get 1 full turn of the head when I screw it on.

Additionally the head feels loose on there, unless I screw it down all the way and then of course the light doesn't come on. So yesterday I went to the hardware store and bought a slightly thicker o ring (brass craft 1/2" ID and 5/8"s OD, 1/16th wall), PN#sc0529) and placed it on there.

Voila! No more head shaking and the light is tight now and stays where I focused it. Now can anyone tell me where to buy Nyogel? It is a little tight turning and I dont want to tear up the o ring over time.

Not sure about the nyogel, but if you pull out the "do not remove" tab ( with the batteries installed) to keep the turn contact switch intact, you can get a few more turns of the head "down". Most people (Myself included) would recommend a tailswitch clicky.

not sure I know what you mean? I don't see any do not remove tab anywhere. can you explain? I do have 1 niteize clickie on one light and a terra lux tail cap switch on the other one.

The Bulb base says do not remove, if you remove it with the batteries installed you will be o.k. the bulb base acts like a spacer with the drop in installed.

This is on the terralux led base? i looked at it and looks like its glued on pretty good.

No, the stock bulb, before you remove it, rests on a circular black base with the words do not remove on it.

It's the thing with the two holes in it that the bi-pin bulb goes into. Be careful not to loose the metal tab underneath.

SO the new led base will act as that "switch" if you will that you remove? and it functions as well as the original? Does the manufacturer of the terralux recommend doing that?

Ok, I took the top of the maglite switch off (carefully) and I did get a turn or so more out of it! BUt I need a clickie switch, like I think you mentioned. I took one off another mini and I will need to get a few more. \
Which is the best clickie for a MM?
