So we have two choices:
I'm NOT crazy, or we're both crazy together.
OK, so you know what I'm doing? Trying to start a thread, AND use the pull-down to instantly notify me. Hit submit, and the thread starts, but the subscription does not. All this time I figured it was user error.

Yup, I've quit trying to do that. It doesn't work when quoting or replying in advanced mode either.
I figured it was FireFox blocking some scripts or something (although CPF's on my white list).
