If you think flashlights can get into your bank account, don't even think about trying astronomy.

Snuffy,

Nice web site. A lot of good information. Is this yours?

I'm something of a backyard astronomer myself, although I've done little (actually, 'no') observing this past winter. Need to get back to it--forgotten a lot of the sky already.

Would you be familiar with any of the folks from the Evansville astronomy club? We go to star parties with some of that "Obsession" crowd.

I know what you mean about the money. Seems I've got a lot of expensive hobbies. As they say, the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys...

Gary,
No, that's not my site. Just another astro site I frequent. Sorry, I don't believe I know anyone from the Evansville astronomy club.
I belong to the Indiana Astronomical Society. We meet in Mooresville, a bit closer to my home in light polluted Indy.

Don't let the winter sky get completely away from you.
Now's a good time to catch Orion without freezing your butt off......

You're right. The Orion nebula is one of my favorites. Of course Jupiter and Saturn are good now, too. Good targets from my light polluted Loo-a-vull.

I've been putting it off because my Dob really needs a good cleaning and aligning. No time like the present, I guess.
