Default A light Emiting Material

Check this site: http://www.saazs.com/ these guys say that they developed a material that glows without energy for about 50000hs at body temperature and need no reflectors.

It got me intrigued, to say the less.

They're very coy about which technology is in the lights.

...So what is it?

I don't know...I've never seen one before, no one has.

Well, someone probably has to be honest, but the people running that site certainly don't want to tell you how these things work.

Anyone got a clue how they work? If they're charging thousands for this stuff - which they are, I'd expect them to tell me down to the n-th detail how the things work.

I'm curious, but haven't a clue what the technology behind it is.

Those poor lightning bugs

Anyone seen 'grave of the fireflies?' My wife and I saw it a few weeks ago
and we both ended up in tears. It's pretty hard to get me to that point.
But that little girl looked and behaved so much like my daughter.

Sounds cool but when will it fall into our hands?

One of the posters in that thread did some digging and found out they're basically glorified fluorescent tubes, most likely the "electrodeless" variety which lights the tubes inductively rather than through the contacts in a socket.

I think the kind of people who would actually pay for this kind of stuff don't really care what's in it, as long as it impresses someone. That said, I'd rather destroy it taking it apart than just enjoy it, so if anyone finds some useful info...
