Default car interior bulb replacement

Just got my new work van and it has three festoon type light housings in the back, problem is i have the back doors open nearly all day going in and out and especially seeing as it getting darker quicker these days im not wanting to run my battery down outside a customers house at 7 pm.

So my thought is to change them to LED ones so they dont drain the battery to much (and because they will look cool).

Now after a search on the web and ebay in particular i found loads of different kinds but havent found any that state what kind of leds they are using.

Im hoping this subject has come up before and a few members here have
upgraded to a better brighter light source than the old glowing wire.

Also on a side note if i do go led will they actually be just as bright as the filament bulbs

PPS is this the correct place to post this thread, mods place advise if neccesary

Do you have a part number for the current bulbs?

I know the size and unless your putting the part number into some form of database i dont think a part number is all that important.

The original bulb is around 40mm by my measurement but im seeing standard sizes online at 39 and 44, also i can modify the bulb holder to accomodate any differences with a simple squeeze with a set of pliers to either make the gap smaller or bigger.
