To finish secondary school(in nineteen years), I made timekeeping. Timekeeping is to use fire sport. Each timer is running independently.
For example this video (this is a night competition), but it is not my timekeeping. Segments are not bought, but laboriously soldered to the PCB! Digits are attach on a black
chipboard (cheap 5$, plastic board 50$/m). Display frame(casing) is made of two pieces of 2,5 mm metal plate into the U and welded together.
On the edge is screwed Al profile. Lacunae are paste together silicone => rain resistant.

Technical parameters:
Digit height: 255mm (10")
Display Dimensions: 102x70x5cm (40"x 27,5"x 2")
Number of LED in the digit: 56 pieces
The total of LED in the display: 574 pieces
LED type: SSC HR310(6 lm/70mA, 10cd)
Light flux: 3444 lm (the current 10A)
Candle-power: 5740cd (the current 10A, cca 5740lx/m)
Power: 12V(7,2 A), 14,4V(10A)-max

=>This display is visible in direct sunlight without any problem!

Control:
I bought a metal box and I made the necessary holes in the box. I soldered the necessary circuits.

Start Timekeeping:
-blue button or
-IR sensor or
-microphone

Stop Timekeeping: the signal from the magnetic contacts, that are located elsewhere (in the target, at the end of the runway).

You'd better resize them, or they will end up removed...
