MIT makes quantum leap in display technology

New displays with bright, pure colours and tiny power demands could be on the way, thanks to research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology

At the end of the article, an interesting bit:

"...the QD-OLEDs may be used to create very stable light for scientific experiments and to miniaturise scientific equipment."
