Default flint type lighter for emergency flash of light

I did a search and couldn't believe no one had mentioned this before. If it's really dark you can produce a quick flash of usable light just by 'flicking your bic'. Don't light the lighter, it's the flint flash that gives the light. Believe me when I say it's way better than nothing and disposable lighters come with a really long flint.

I made a comment to one of my employees once, when I noticed he used the backlight of his watch often when he needed light. I mentioned that it seemed a rather expensive way of lighting, since his watch battery wouldn't hold out all that long. He said he didn't worry about it, and that when his battery runs down he just goes to Wal-Mart and buy another $6.98 watch.

Something we Zippo users have known for a long time.
