Default car charger question

I've got one of those univeral chargers for my portable dvd player in my suv. the dvd unit sez 12v 2.5amp. the charger steps from 1.5a to 3a. will this screw up my dvd player, if I plug it in with a full charge on the dvd battery? I would be using this as a battery eliminator so the batt. don't run down & need full charging. thanks pm

Default Re: car charger question

It will work but don't leave it plugged in when your not driving. Those chargers will drain your vehicle battery fairly quickly. I have a friend that left his cellphone plugged in to the aux and in two days it wouldnt turn over. he replaced the battery assuming that the battery was dying anyway. 3 days later the same thing. I checked the vehicle out for shorts or something left on, the radio and computer chip were the only additional drain sources.I figured there had to be lights that were on all the time like the glovebox or makeup lights in the visors but never did find any thing out of the ordinary.
