Hey Sasha - When I was looking for volunteers to hold my hand at the Baretta booth... where the heck were you? If I had somebody with me who knew some stuff, we probably could have done better in the "marketing materials" dept for our poor buddy Martin! I suppose it would have helped if I'd asked you, huh? Can't say for sure as I didn't see it... but it certainly looks like a Turbo head on a C2 or something. What is IN it, is more of a mystery. It may well be the sister of my 5W turquoise C2-turbo though. All the Skunks had these at one time when the 5W were brand-spanking new. This thing still throws like nothing else!
OK, just checked the picture above it... since I know Wayne was carrying his C2-turbo, and he's sitting right next to it, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that I KNOW it is a C2-turbo with a 5W in it.

And here's what the head looks like (picture from the SF site) if you're at all wondering:

You can purchase the turbo head for the M series, certainly. You can also purchase an M3T which comes WITH the turbo head. The new heads are going to look different than what currently shows on the Surefire site though.

The new style heads have been mentioned and shown around here for a while now. You'll need to go poke around a bit. I haven't a clue if they're being sold yet or not.

Re: SHOT Show 2004 Las Vegas HAPPENING
Chengiz. I think I'll have to wait for the XD's in .45 (was thinking the XD would be the gun I would purchase for a permit try here). I saw the Taurus in this months American Rifleman with a Surefire X200 on board. Looks cool. I like M14 variants too but can't afford one. I understand that Springfield also has the first small weapon light for subcompacts on the market I think it's made by Insight Technologies, was that there?
Sasha, nice Arc edition Spyderco Jester. Were they selling those at the Arc Booth? My Sister would really dig that Beretta Carbine too. She wants to go to the Blade show this year with my father and me and I'm gonna invite her to the NRA convention as well I think the Storm would appeal to her.
Looks like everyone had fun, I love Vegas got married there over ten years ago and been back a couple times since, wish I coulda gone too! Maybe next year. My wife wants to go for the Viva Las VegasConvention, retro-rockabilly culture, custom cars, motorcycles etc. but it will depend on whether she lands a new job soon or not.

Re: SHOT Show 2004 Las Vegas HAPPENING
Just got back today and here's my Top 10 SHOT show highlights:
10. The show was in VEGAS. ‘Nuff said.
9. Taking nearly every brochure/catalog and free sample I could get my hands on.
8. Being constantly amazed at how many people have heard of CPF.
7. Checking out McGizmo’s M6 conversion with the 3 Luxeon III’s. Bright!
6. Checking out the VIP prototype.
5. Having Sven at Swarovski explain how to operate their new lights. Not sure too many people saw this.
4. Playing with Surefire’s new offerings (primarily the U2 and L2)
3. Walking around with Otokoyama on the last day of the show and watching him try out all the big machete-sized knives at the Ka-Bar, Spyderco, and Gerber booths, and also examine lights with a jeweler’s eye for how centered the luxeons were.
2. (Tie)
Meeting PK
Meeting DavidW
Meeting Sasha and KC
Meeting Peter and Merri Gransee
Meeting McGizmo
1. Hanging out with Mr. Bulk for four days and getting to know him better. A cooler guy you will not meet. The only thing better than a Mr. Bulk creation is the man himself. No exaggeration.
Some lowlights:
Freezing on that first day of the show (Hey, I’m from Hawaii) while trying to get over a cold.
Seeing Pentalight (makers of Surefire copies) in the same aisle as Surefire. They even have the chutzpah to name one of their lights the Aviator!
The Show was a blast. Hope anyone who hasn't been to one before can go next year. You won't regret it.

Yeah, they had a bunch of stuff in their booth. Not too impressive looking IMO. And instead of discounting their lights to account for differences in quality they were trying to charge Surefire-like prices. I'll see later if I can dig up their materials from my stack.

Yeah, they sure did have product. Some of it even worked. Imagine a charcoal-colored SF line with a pentagonal (instead of round) tail switch, and you've got a good idea of what we saw.
