Looks cool, what is it? Some type of drop in upgrade heatsink?

-Mike

EDIT: If you want to show the picture, you will need to use the URL of the jpeg itself (http://img217.echo.cx/img217/9183/copper3x5side7wu.jpg in your case), adding the . With this the post should show:

Thanks Mike! I'll try again. It's a copper heatsink I'm making for a fellow who wants to use 3 X 5 watters in a "D" mag with NX05 optics. I have a pic of its' front side I'll try to post......

The large screws are for grounding the leds but they don't quite do the trick.... I have some aluminum washers on order that will take care of that. And those are 1 watters mounted just for trial.

That's nice! lots of copper mass. 3x5w has been done before but with a HS in the body and the head has to be affixed with set screws or epoxy to keep it from moving.

This copper setup looks good for the upcoming Lux IV too!
I still like the "drop in" aspect. Plus you can't mess up the stuff if someone turns the head!

Thanks Isaac... That's my philosophy make it easy and foolproof. And if you sand the anodize off the end of the battery tube it will butt against the bottom of the sink and give a mega ground connection. You won't have to depend on that silly strap mag uses for ground with their focusing reflector. I may put these on CPF B/S/T... if there is interest. The copper is expensive and machining it is a PIA!

I'll bet my friend, a fellow CPF'er will give the details on how his 3 X 5 goes.... The sink will be in his hands next week.
