Default Yellow for fog lights, i finally believe (color)

i have a rgb light now finnaly. and have been attempting to discover all the things that everyone says about light colors with it.
when i pointed it into the murky waters of the creek below to see the fishies.
i was altering the colors , when i hit the blue, and then i could no longer see UNDER the water, it seemed to reflect more of the light back to me off the surface of the water.

now i have always HATED fog lights as being 100% useless for seeing anything in the FOG, but they do display my presence to OTHERS, so mabey they have some value.

fog lights often put out a massive SPREAD, that just turns the fog in front of you into a impassable hunk of light up fog garbage.
SO
i have always avoided them, and instead put in Driving lights, LOW on the vehicle, the spot of light would light the Road, instead of the fog, and down low, they did not come back in my face so quickly.

i always thought that the YELLOW was just about as useless as the BEAM PATTERN of the fog lights besides, after all they dont make a fog light that works in fog , so i never had the opertunity to test the YELLOWING , in the driving lights (proper aim).

so now i discover what SEEMS like a better ability to view THROUGH a water reflection shining back into my face, i think yellow is not so bad after all for fog. i still think the beam they use sux, but i will give them some credit for the yellow having some kinda logic.

there are very few truly good "fog" lamps in cars, most are just aux. lamps pointed forwards. ditto "drive" lamps. looks like you haven't experienced decent examples of either.

PIAA = spring top $$ and I think you'll notice good performance in fog/foul weather lights.

In order to have fog lamps work right they need to have a wide-flat spread and be mounted as low on the vehicle as possible. This prevents the glare from coming straight back and blinding you.

It has been pretty much prooven that the color of fog lamps doesn't really matter that much in terms of overall penetration. However I think that amber/yellow lamps work a little better for me, not because they penetrate any better but because if something moves (deer, dog, etc) it is "highlighted" in yellow/orange. You may still not be able to see what it is clearly, but a yellow/orange blob in the distance still tends to get my attention more than a dim white blob in the distance.

The odd thing is the regulations in Virginia are completely backwards regarding aux lights. They state that Fog lights should be wired so they only come on with high beams (Using high beams in fog is REALLY stupid) and that driving lights should only be on with low beams (again, stupid... driving lights are supposed to provide a "narrow/throw" suppliment to the usually "wide/wall o' light" throw of high beams).
