Default I need some help to upgrade my head lamp please?

I currently have a LedLenser headlamp 1.25W headlamp that is comfortable and light and ok for walking in the bush but not enough for high speed biking. it has 3 LEDs I don't know if they are luxeon or whatever??? I really need to make this A LOT BRIGHTER...as bright as possible for adventure racing.
Can someone tell me what to buy to modify this or sell me the parts please? Batteries are only 3 AAA but that can change too.

You most likely have a 3x5mm LED setup. For adventure racing, you'll need something much more powerful than that! In a recent thread someone mentioned MountainBike Reviews. Since then I've spent several hours reading their lights section.

Here's the link

There's also a couple of recent threads on CPF, try the search function.

Sounds like he has a 3x5mm+1watt luxeon headlamp. You are basically going to have to get something else for what you are wanting to do, probably something like a 5+watt halogen bike light, a headlamp with external battery pack would do or one that takes 3-4AAs and run nimh in it would power a high wattage incan bulb. I would borrow someones high output halogen spotlight and see if that is closer to what you need, as those tend to be 25-50watts and up.

Thanks for the suggestions guys but I just ordered a new Nite Rider Cyclone 13W HID headlamp with 3 LED's also in the head. I think it is a "portable sun" my friend also has one I was just trying to find an alternative less than $500.00 but I know it will work and get me through an entire night easily.

I need it pretty bright for high speed descents on off road trails, I need to be able to see at least 75M or more in front of me. THis one is brighter than my car's headlights, maybe because of the color also?
I would still like to upgrade my Led-Lenser to make it a bit brighter if possible for trekking through the bush, hoping that you or someone else can give me some suggestions on a different type of LED or driver for the one I have???

my dad has an nite rider HID bike light(the one without the LEDs), it is very bright!! Plus it has a longer runtime than most halogen lights. you will be very pleased. It is more of a flood light, which is much better for riding, but i believe you can get a LA that is made for spotting, but I'm pretty sure it can do 75m. He has used it around 2 times a week, for the last couple of years with no problems.
good luck.
