How to get the smilies inside your message?

I'm missing something..
When I try to put an "emoticon" at the end of a line within a post, It shows up in the heading, completely outside of the body of my text. What am I doing wrong or not doing?

Change your editing options to WYSIWYG:
Click on "User CP" on the top bar, select change options (or settings), scroll to the very bottom of the page for the editing options. You'll have an entire panel full of graemlins for you to choose. Just click on the one you want to use, and it'll show on the post screen.

That's way more work than it's worth for me. I'll continue to hope that CPFers will understand that some (many, most, a few - you figure it out;I can't) of my posts are sort of tounge-in-cheek, rather, perhaps, and sometimes...maybe. Do we have a blathering idiot emoticon? Picture it here.

jayflash, if you type ": stupid :" (without the spaces before/after "stupid"), you get:
": nana :" (again, no spaces) will give you
":P" (with lowecase p) will give you

No need to learn the codes, however. If you enable the WYSIWYG option, you see all the graemlins and can add them to your post just by clicking on them. It'll take you less than 2 minutes, on dial-up, to set it up.
