Will any dropins fit in the Fenix TK40?

I've tried a search, but couldn't find an answer to this. Is anyone aware of dropins that fit, or tried sticking different emitters in the TK40?

Cheers

Why would one want to buy a $120+ flashlight just to use the body? Imagine torches as cars, if the engine is good, you don't need to swap it.

Just get a maglite.

And no, there are no drop ins for the TK40 and as far as I know no one has attampted to change the led emitter.

Nope... none that I am aware of.
In defense of the OP, the TK40 is not the brightest quad-die light... so if lumen output is your goal, I can see the desire to mod one. Although I think you're better off just getting a brighter quad-die light.

I know, it's already a serious light to begin with; I was just thinking of the great voltage provided by 8 of the most accessible battery format, driving something else; frankly, with a body like that, I'd love to be able to stick something strictly single mode, warm tint, and bright as hell in it. (I know, sacrilege).

You could get a quad bored 2D Mag for less than the price of a TK40.

its 6V with the current capacity of less than 1 Cell by having the AA's in parallel. So 4 C cells in series would have more total power capacity than 8 AA's, so how is it such a "great voltage and battery format"???

What you could do with 4 Tenergy 5 Ampere hour rated C cells or something similar is far better than 8 alkalines in 2 pairs of 4 each to make 6V. Two of the lithium ion C cells would blow away 8 AA's power wise but the voltage would of course be different I know. Its just a convenient form factor not any where near a great one.

You need a Lamborghini V12. I heard it has a few less ponies but sounds better.

I knew I would catch some mild flack for this post, but c'mon guys - I was only asking. People do things to lights all the time. Basically, when I said "great voltage" or "great format", I meant that I like AAs. No, that many AAs isn't delivering the kind of voltage you could get from lithiums - I simply like that format of battery, and the fat-barrel design of the light, which accommodates them, giving good voltage (for AA batteries).

i'd be very interested to see pics if you do indeed modify the tk40. you'd have to have another tk40 unmodified to compare it to. ...and maybe a third tk40 as a witness.

I'm dreamin'...I'd need someone to mod it for me; but heck, if I can ever afford someone willing and able to desecrate such a good light to appease my whims, I will certainly post the results. Maybe I should stick to more conventional ideas for now. :)

120 bucks? Please tell me where I can get a tk40 for that ballpark!
