IMO there is no point to buying an OEM looking aftermarket/custom body for more than the price of a new Surefire OEM body.

However if someone (fivemega please read) makes a body like the picture below in a 18mm size... i would be all over it.

Yeah, unfortunately the people who have the equipment and skill to produce these kinds of things aren't available for low-paying work like that. Surefire bodys aren't cheap, but they're a good value compared to the cost of custom work.

Hey GB, your favorite person in the whole wide world, DSpeck, used to make Surefire bodies.

McGizmo makes E-series compatible bodies, right now in 1x123, 2x123, and 2xAA configurations.

Ok, technically not a surefire body but this fits the 18mm requirement and comes close.

I have a single cell McGizmo Aleph body and a Vital Gear FB1 - as well as a Fivemega 18650, and all are well made. The Aleph 2 cell tubes are 17670 compatible but not 18650 ... still that is a pretty big jump up from a single RCR ...

The FB1 is tiny by comparison and makes for a very compact package, basically the same length as a Novatac 120P but thinner. The Aleph body is very well made as you'd expect. Having said all that - I'm not sure they are markedly better made or feeling than my stock E1L body or my E2L or E2E bodies. The problem is that as far as I know other than the secondary market here no one sells Surefire bodies by themselves...

We provide them, but a consistent supply is a challenge. We are considering 'rolling our own'.
