I thought the preview looked pretty cool, but they are trying to play it off like the people don't know what's going on. You know that had to have known something about what is going on.
I think this is the second season. I watched a couple of episodes before and found them quite interesting.
I watched all of season one and it was pretty cool. They had a computer engineer as a cast member. He even knew how to purify water pulled from, oh what,s the name of it? The aquaduct system in LA where all movie car chase scenes are filmed, even Terminator 2. Anyway he knew how to get the pollution out as well as microbes. And more than one way at that.
He did eat Figaro cat food too, though he cooked it. I used to by that for my cats, and it was tuna by-products from Bumblebee. Much to my cats dismay, it's discontinued. :naughty:
I believe I saw the same guy on one of those "I'm an IBMer commercials as well, it sure looked like him.
I'm DVRing the new one tonight, I'll get to it eventually.

I thought the first season was very interesting, but it looks like they may have more manufactured scenarios and less real survival situations in the second season.

The last season was interesting at first but it got a bit comical as the show progressed. I laughed out loud when they "found" the huge crate of Harbor Freight cordless power tools in the warehouse they were directed to call home.
Still, I watched most if not all of the show and will probably watch a good portion of this season.

That rather convenient. I got an ad in the mail today from them. Good to know they'll still be around after the apocalypse.

Ha! Part of my post-apocalypse plan is to come across a crate full of power tools, a couple Honda generators and a few barrels of fuel... all highly possible!
I watched this weeks episode. I'd forgotten how cheesy it was. Toward the end of last season people started posting facts about the "participants". Several of which had previously worked as actors....

Idea has promise. I'd like to see it done on an island with no other people.
Everything done with hundreds of little hidden cameras - no other people, LOL.
6 months without ANY outside contact and minimal starting gear. You can cut and piece together episodes for TV but I would really want webcam feed 24/7 as well. :twothumbs Now that would be interesting stuff!

That would be way cool. Even if it was only 60 days it would be entertaining and very interesting.
Watched it last night. Interesting. I was wondering where the dead, rotted pigs were going to play into this... then saw previews for next week. Again... interesting. I'm not hooked yet... but I am intrigued just a bit. I already know who I would "off" for food if it was necessary...
OH!... and did anyone find it just a little disturbingly amusing that the dude who was being all preachy about his life being in the hands of God, etc. was the one who yelled at the "intruders"... "YOU'RE DEAD! I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!".... :laughing: For being a good Christian and all that, he sure had some pent up anger and aggression!

I was thinking the same thing:thinking:. I remember something like this on TLC or History channel last year. Doomsday reality tv:sigh:.

You've changed names and gone cannibal? I seem to rember about four or five years ago you were working in an industry that could provide lots of Soylent Green type food! :naughty:

Just finished watching S2E01 of The Colony. My mind was blown. I own season 1 on DVD,and the Season 2 premiere blew it away for excitement. Can't wait for the next episode.
I'm also hoping they depict more realistic emergency/survival situations over the staged fight scenes with contaminated looters.
It was interesting how they decided to try and salvage the salami that was in the trailer with the rotted pigs.

Ditto. I found it interesting that with all the "fighting" going on, I didn't see one punch thrown. Although, they were seemingly more aggressive (both sides) than last season.

I find parts of it interesting, but the fact is you can't tell acting from the real thing, and the cast all seems to be living in a 'concept bubble'. Bow and Arrow anyone?

More like the producers had a talk with everyone involved on both sides of that staged fight, and made it clear there would be no blood involved. Also, by setting it up that the looters were contaminated; the producers made sure the colony members had a good reason not to escalate the fight into something more brutal involving bloodshed. (If such a fight took place for real.)
Ironically, my security training would have come in handy. If I was there, I'd post a look-out on every side an enemy could come from. Rotating shifts for everyone. And some sort of barrier over by the huge, perfect-for-a-large-army-to-come-in, gate.
