I keep finding myself thinking at work, "The red wire gets connected up to the torpedo...no I mean the blue and red wire get tied to the torpedo. Gah!"

I hope this light is finished before Im 'committed'... :grouphug: Maybe we should start a therapy group?

I hear ya Caveman, I have a dark problem and can't get enough lights! :)

So, that being said, how many exquisite lights are too many for a keychain?

Hello, my name is Megatrowned, and I have a not enough lights problem :broke: Actually, I think others have the problem. They don't appreciate nice lights! Their loss...

Maybe we should ask tgwnn if he has any titanium key rings to put the torpedo on. Or one large one to put a lot of them on :twothumbs

Guy,

I was just joking that your proto head could be used on the HF because it's larger size would handle longer run times with greater heatsinking ability.

Guy said he'll do his best to keep the price as near to that as possible for CPFers who buy during the first batch. Obviously, we should expect the price to be higher than that, but you'll certainly pay even more later.

Target price for the first run is $65 or less.

Production Timing:
expecting prototype end of November 2011
1st production run about 1 month after that.

1st step now is to get the prototype made.
Clip design is not yet finalized.

Also, the final length may increase (max of 10mm but hoping 5mm at most), depending on the final driver size.

As always, I welcome your feedback.
Oh, and be gentle but honest, this is my first "production" model light. :)

Hi MegaT,

The exact wiring is secret. If you can cut the wires without setting off the timer.....??? :D

HI DBC,
I think the maximum is probably around 255 if you use some extensions wires but you might need a few extra belts!

Ahh, now I get it :)

OK, I've looked and I can't find an idea of price?
Thanks for the questions Xmldriver :)
more answers below

I believe it was initially quoted around $60 but has adjusted since then I'm sure.
Thanks Alex

Thanks DBC

Right now, I have no idea on the exact price. Hoping to keep it as reasonable as possible, but I'd like to also break even and total development costs have been more than expected.
As mentioned, I do hope to keep in near the original target at least for the first pre-order.

Looking forward to your work on this light, watching the progress is very enjoyable.
Be sure to keep the low mode 1 lm, this is as important to me as the 500 lm.
Thanks

New pcb/driver proto arrived at the lab for testing. Looks like all the functionally is there, but some very minor adjustments needed.

The pcb is very long... I presume it is just for easy(!) prototyping. The final version must be different, doesn't it?

Looks to me like it's just right to wrap around a 10440 battery ;) Roughly 34mm will do that, and I would presume there's some extra space in the head of the light to accomodate it. In the photo, on my screen, the XM-L is approx 5mm which makes the circuit board run 45mm. According to Cree, the XM-L is 5mm on the green board, so this measurement is pretty close. Which would indeed make the circuit board seem a bit long. So I'd say " Good catch Esko!" :) We shall see!

Hope everythings ok with Guy, haven't seen a post in a while...but then I guess he's busy anodizing CoreTi's!
