No, there should not be any "flickering" when turning on. May be a contact issue - have you tried cleaning all the contact surfaces? Also, can you describe the type and state of the batteries you are using?Well I turned it on but when I do it flickers then turns on, is this normal? If not then its going back and no more Thrunite for me.
