Looking forward to building one up for you...

This thread started quite a while back when T6 was the latest/greatest. These days I'm using XML-2 U2, and also have XML-2 U3...

I'll send you an email...

Hi Jayrob.

I'm interested in LED upgrade for my old maglite 6D, to make it fit for work in fire and rescue service and ski patrol.

Please send me the options and pricing to address I have sent in pm.

Best regards Gunnar.

Silly question, but when you add your xm-l kit to say, a 6d mag light, does more batteries get added to the build? For instance, a 2d build gets 2 32650's; would I put 6 32650's In a 6d build?

If you wanted to use a 6D, you would just use NiMH cells. Or even Alkaline can work for that many cells...

So there would be no benifits to using the 32650's? I was thinking more along the lines of extended battery life. Maybe a series parallel config or something if the voltage is too high.

For this set up, the driver has input voltage limits...

2 Li-Ion cells works best. (IMO)

Same voltage for 6 NiMH's though. With NiMH's having some more capacity. But honestly if it's just run time your after, it seems better to just carry a 2D light and a couple of extra cells instead of a 6 cell light...

P.S. The Li-Ion's have great capacity in this build. Please take a couple of minutes to read some of the buyer feedback I have listed here: :)

Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the replies. I will be ordering from you soon, just trying to learn as I go. The thread you linked is what made me join FYI. Love your builds, and this site.
