Hi Vin, the LD75Cvn beamshot isnt on this post for direct comparison. :(

Don't have the lights both done for beam shots but Justin does have numbers for both which should give an objective idea :)

Hey Vin! I'm new to the forums and want an awesome light with lots of throw. Do you recommend this light over the TM36?

I'm not Vinh, but I own both lights. The LD75C is much more floody than the TM36.

The TM36 is a thrower while this light is more of a mid range light that provides some throw. My TM36 is my furthest throwing light that I own.

If looking for throw and you want a Vinh custom light, look at the TK75vnKT using the XM-L2 dedomed leds.

Guessing your TM36 is dedomed, and the LD57C is dome on? That would make perfect sense in terms of the TM36 being much more throwy.

The TM36 uses the SBT-70 emitter which does not use a dome and the led phosphor is round not square. Additionally, the reflector on the TM36 is over 3" in diameter and close to the same depth.

The beam profile on the TM36 is a round projection with a sharply defined cutoff.

I've got a stock TK75 and Vinh modified TK75vnKT light as well as the LD75C. The LD75C comes close to the stock TK75 for beam throw. The TK75vnKT blows the LD75C away for throw.

As soon as Vinh gets my LD75Cvn done, I'll report on how it stacks up against the group of lights.

Ahh, my bad, I mixed up the TN30/36 and the TM36. I'm also quite curious to see the new Fenix in action.

For the moment my favorite thrower is the TK61vn50, but it is a big light to haul around. For the most part ~150kcd is more than enough.

Thanks for the replies! Does he sell the light modded or do I purchase a light and send it to him to be modded? I guess I want a TK75cnKT :)

If you are looking to purchased a TK75vn KT light, this http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?374328-WTS-TK75vn-4400L-Pre-order is the sales thread. Take a look around and see if that's what you want. The beam shots are a good example of what you'll receive.

Vinh will modify existing lights as well as sell you a new light that he has modified. The Vinh supplied light will cost you less than modifying your light unless you presently have a 2900 lumen TK75. The 2600 lumen version from memory can't be boosted to the levels of the 2900 lumen light.
