The xp-l PDT out perform the xp-l HI in both output and throw basically .

One advantage IMO of the HI is the tint consistency , however vinhs PDT are very nice over factory de-dome led's .

So for max throw and lumens out of both, the PDT is the choice.

Thank you very much, this is good to know when ordering my next light. I was trying to decide if I should go with the HI. If PDT is going to outperform, and we have Vihn picking a choice tinted LED for us, no brainer.

Yes this is correct, down side for vinh is he throws many away as too green etc, so it is costly for him. So basically you get hand picked to vinhs standards LA...........

This is why we buy flashlights from Vinh. From wiring to circuitry to LEDs, everything is cream of the crop. Plus the fact that Vinh is a nice guy.

+1 MAD
Also better heat sinking, he really can make a great light out of the box awesome and its getting tougher too with zebralight and acebeam!!!

No matter how good manufacturers seem to be getting(only the odd one), vinh is always a step ahead!!! an innovator through and through.........

My TK75VNQ FIAT LUX that was born on 2-9-2016 ,does not have perfectly centered led's either. I just figured that that's how it looked after he got the beam adjusted just right. The beam is great!

I just sent one to vinh to get v54 treatment. The LEDs came from factory off centered. The beam was well focused even though they were not centered. I did have a factory driver issue though.

Yeah Ven. I've been wanting the tk75xhp70 for awhile now, just didn't have the funds until now. This one will be like it performance wise. Always wanted a serious flooder to walk our dog. Btw he had surgery last week and they removed a 10 inch tumor. The tumor result came back not cancerous thank God. But then the other day his suture broke and we had to bring him back in for another surgery. He's back home today and in 2 weeks when he's ready to go walking again, we should have the flood monster lighting our way.

Glad he is OK, i am sure he will be happy walking in the day at night!!

As i have said a few times, big fan of the xhp70(even more when de-domed) for the flood/throw it gives. Even on the cooler side its a nice tint imo and gives a nice wall of light. It is certainly going to get hot quick and if anything like the Q70(sure it is), you can literally burn your hand a foot in front of the reflectors!! I find simple 3 mode groups work best for me, low for most uses, 30% for lighting up everything and good run time(baring in mind thats probably 4000+lm)...........then 100% for crazy just for giggles.

Look forward to your impressions:D

I got the light back from vinh today. Ven I think I'm hooked on these flooders. The q70s heat up pretty quick on turbo. I think 30-40 seconds is all I want to go. I don't want to damage it. This thing is stupid bright already. I can just imagine the rc40.

So this is the defuse dome. U can't see the crosshairs and that's what makes the beam blend so well. Well done vinh.

Congrats VN, no doubt very similar to the Q70(without splitting hairs)and on full tilt, holding your hand a foot in front of the bezel proves too hot to do! The heat of this is crazy and no doubt could set fires going!

It's really weird. I read people with GT using Samsung 30q button top but mine has a couple mm. slack. Oh well more battery for the other lights. Back to the protected GA.

Yes, my stock light takes the button top 30Qs, but not the flat GAs. Did you get it modded in the end?

Yes I got it modded. Maybe that lengthen the battery housing a bit? The protected GA works fine. I just figure it would benefit a bit from the 15amps compare to 10 on the GA. I'm ok with it. Maybe find another light to stick the 30q in?[emoji6]

If you want to run flat top batteries why not just solder on a blob of solder onto the tips of the springs on the tail cap? I've done this before with no issues.
