I have a question for you guys with more Vinh lights than fingers and toes (you know who you are, lucky dogs) that I hope you can help me with. I have found that for general walking/hiking/biking purposes the beam profile on my K40Mvn is my favorite. The magnetic ring is OK, but I really prefer DriverVN for it's versatility. It sounds like the 6XLvn would be a 50% increase in lux and lumen and a 50% decrease is size and driverVN. Other than the price, it sounds perfect.

My question is, does the 6XLvn have a wide bright beam like the K40Mvn? A beamshot comparison photo would be great, but just a description would be great. I really need to justify spending $600 on a light, private college is a killer.

Thanks for the help.

Just a brief comment. U can get x45vn and tn42vn for $600.

Yes I know, and I like both of those lights a lot. But I am looking for the my perfect "lighting my trail light". The X45vn might work well on the trail, and I will likely get that light first, but a thrower like the TN42vn is not a good trail light IMO. The other factor is the size. I tend to leave the bigger lights at home more often than I like. I really should just order the X45vn though shouldn't I, It really sounds amazing.

Glad to see a little action on the old lounge.

If you are looking for a good mixture, and still my favorite vn light, try the tn40vn.

Is the TN40vn a really big step up from my T6vn? I know the numbers are a little higher, but I always thought the increase in size over the T6vn made it a marginal step up. Am I wrong? Is the hot spot on the Tn40vn bigger than on the T6vn?

Then you should look for light in xhp 50.. xhp 50 is isolated and good for night hiking..

NewLumen--I'm curious as to what was wrong with your light--Was it because the button top cells were too long

FYI. Vinh is doing a sale tonight. I'll try and screenshot and post here when he yells Fiat lux so anyone not on FB can just email him and claim a light. Not sure if someone who claims first on FB will trump your email but it's better than nothing.
