Well I have pulled the trigger on my first McGizmo, a 119V Haiku with diamond etched clip. Have been saving for a while for one of these but then something crops up so it gets delayed but now finally order placed. Huge thank you to Don for his patience and answering my questions over the years and thank you to you gentlemen on here. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas [emoji23]🤣[emoji23]

Congrats, I'm sure you will be very pleased ... :santa: [emoji106]

The Haiku with XPG reflector and XPG2/119 has more throw and a tighter, more defined hotspot than a HDS. It is a deeper, more narrow reflector.
The Haiku with the XML (XRE) reflector is a little bit shorter than the XPG and creates about the same beam diameter but has a more uniform and even spread of the lumens in the beam.
Edited for brevity.

Is it possible to tell which reflector you have without a side by side comparison?

The LED Port diameter at the bottom of the reflector is about 1/8" in the XPG/119 reflector and about 1/4" diameter in the XML reflector.

Cheers thank you. Can I do myself in future or does a master like you have to do the magic?

I had a Haiku a while ago and let it go, but I have just acquired another and very glad I did. Going to get a nice LE for it, something warm and HiCRI.

That 2xCR123A SunDrop is a beautiful combo, by the way, and one which I rarely see pictured :)

This is a combination that was just meant to be. I try to put that on other bodies and with exception of the AA body it always ends up back on the 2x123. Since I do a lot of close to medium work and the SunDrop is spectacular for that.
Also a non flashaholic friend of mine, who drools over this every time he sees it.

The Makai and the 2x123 isn't too bad either. I just need a Makai head. :sigh:
