Check your serial number by counting the groups of red flashes when the light in in programming mode. Put the serial number in here...

http://lux-rc.com/content/serials

This will tell you the furmware version that you have. Version 1.1 did not have the battery check, apparently, version 1.2 did

Correct, thank you. Here are complete release notes:

R1.0 Apr 15, 2015
- Beta board for OR, power pulse UI (requires special
web timing)

R1.1 Jun 1, 2015
- Programming timing fixed to support all screens
- 0.7s default mode switch time, "222" factory PIN

R1.2 Nov 17, 2015
- The voltage tracking/state machine full redesign
- 1S/2S voltage display
- Bat safety switchover (up to ~50mOhms internal res)
- Hybrid memory revision. Selection is saved after 2s
- MOM: on/off, mode switching, three special modes and
programming, lock, program with holding mom, FL33 RGB

R1.2 Dec 18, 2015
- The battery lock leak fixed

R1.2 Dec 31, 2015
- The PIN enter click is set to 1/2s limit

R1.2.1 Feb 22, 2016
- Temperature and bounce reading fixes (stepdown issue)
- Extra low mode (signal) switching fix (decay monitor)
- Low-battery occasional mode switchover fix
- 1S heavy load surge detector added. Steps down to 3W
- Access voltage meter with MOM (lock and hold)
- Cap discharge optimization (mode switching improvement)
- FL33 RGB indicator fix
- 8ms temperature reading (leads to web app re-calibration)
- Bat. fail/lock: 7-10uA leak, waits for battery swap
- OVP: overvolt. check on start, no runtime checking

R1.2.2 Feb 24, 2016
- mode saving to EEPROM fixed (FL_NOTSAVED)

R1.2.3 Mar 7, 2016
- 481 service PIN added: on/off the standby locator

R1.2.4 Mar 22, 2016
- "No memory" bug fixed

R1.2.5 Apr 27, 2016
- Service PIN fix: use 381 to control the standby locator

Hi folks
I am having trouble with the bounce option.
I can successfully change program outputs, currently have .04,14,74 and afterburner.
i have tweaked the bounce sensitivity from 60 to 76% but the bounce function has never worked.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Turn it to 100%, then work your way down until it works right. Mine is set to 89/90ish.

So with regards to the Level 1 / 1.5mw output mode; now that this product has been out for a while, does anybody have an estimate for potential runtime at this lowest level (w/ any cell) ?
A straight calculation from the cited runtimes for the higher levels (i.e. listed in Post #1) is almost certainly not accurate due to the board/driver overhead during operation.

Was thinking that perhaps someone has been able to measure 'tailcap' current or ... ?

Edit: And has anyone done any runtimes at all with 2xCR123 (any output level) ? Thx,

I haven't seen this discussed anywhere, but will the new engine in the luxrc fj33 be making its way into a boss or wasp head?

sorry, mode 1 is so efficient it would take months to find out

Sorry, the driver for that light is significantly larger than the one in the BOSS. any new light we develop would be a second larger platform parallel to BOSS etc and wouldn't be ready until 2020.

I'm struggling with the temperature of my Boss 35 at level 28 and my clearly baby soft skin. LOL
So, having messed about with the programming just now, I've gone back to this thread, downloaded the 55c program and programmed the torch. It worked as afterwards, my torch had no program loaded at all. So, I loaded up a program of level 14 - Amber - 21 - 28 with bounce set as well.
I turned the light on at level 28 (indoors) and after only 2 minutes, I cannot hold the torch as the vintage copper body is too hot. There is no way on this earth I could ever run level 28 long enough for it to step down on its own, I'd have no skin left.
So, what kind of temperature is the torch getting to whereby the outside is too hot to hold? Surely it should be stepping down from the 55c set limit?

The temperature limit is the temperature inside the head, the outside is less but still you might try an even lower temperature limit so it steps down quicker. I've read somewhere that the human skin can handle something around 40c, at 44c the skin can be burned already. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.

Also try holding the light in the cigar grip as the head gets hot first and the heat soon spreads towards the body of the Boss so it can dissipate into the air. Maybe you can hold it longer that way. I do it all the time with my Boss 70 and take advantage of the longer body to let the higher levels run longer without touching the hot head.

Hey LuxTacGear, as per your post I looked at the temperature programming and also had a PM from Dan as well. I have it set to the 40c program and it worked well for me. After an indoor test with an ambient temp of around 21c, I ran it on level 28 for over 7 minutes and it worked well. It had to step down, I think, 3 times during that time, however, at no time was it too hot for me to hold. So that's a definite change that I like for my hands. In the real world and outside when its dark, it's gonna be cooler and with me moving around would make it stay brighter for longer anyway. Thanks for the advice :D
