By the way, is the green one available in the 5000k tint? Which do you prefer one this one? I love throw, it also like a warmer tint. What's your thought on this one?

Good to know! Thanks! I have 3 other Emisars and love the UI. Looking forward to getting one of these.

Which other Emisars do you have? The UI is amazing. The auxiliary light is pretty cool too.

Hybrid 2*XPG2 PDT + 2*XPL HI 5000K 3600 Lumen, 70Kcd Intensity, 529mThrow
being replaced with:

Oslon White 6500K, 3000Lumen, 125Kcd, 693m Throw

A new era of optics thrower has arrived ;-)

What's the difference between oslon black vs white?
looks to be the same tint as same 800 or so lumens.

Black does not work with optics, require PFET driver, and has higher Vf. Simply put Black is for reflector. White is for optics. Not quite that simple but that is how it will end up from what I see...White will be great in smaller lower drain reflector EDC too.

Hows the labor/price?

So the Oslon White Vinh is referring to the is the new Osram emitter, the KW CSLNM1.TG. It's no longer an Oslon series LED, nor has the name Black Flat (it's part of the Ostar Projection Compact family of Osram LEDs), but everyone is calling it White Flat, or in Vinh's case Oslon White, since his fanbase mostly knows the previous LED as Oslon Black-- this LED is in effect a spiritual successor to the popular Black Flat emitter.

It has lower vF, a neutral thermal pad, and no notch in its corner. It can also theoretically achieve a little more lumen output as well, but what's theoretical and what is real are different.

So how does it fare in an Apples to Apples comparison against the Black Flat in a dedicated single reflector light, Vinh? Would it be possible in a multi reflector light like the TN40?

From a Modding standpoint it's not really a successor to the black flat but a companion. It's low Vf = nothing single 18650 or larger is ok with a single led. At least not direct driven. In any multiples application it should be a dream.

I love this LED so much I ordered 150!!!!

What if you use a buck/boost driver at around 6amps as opposed to direct drive? 6amps should be able to push it to over 800 lumens and not fry it like a fet driver would.

I'd be interested in what kind of numbers you can achieve with the TN40 and MT18 hosts.

Imagine this LED in an Imalent R90C. =O

What options will there be for single 18650 around MH20 size?

I don't agree it's a companion. It superior in literally every way, but many vendors, Vinh included, are not ready to implement it right. That is: with a regulated driver. The technology is here, L4P has a great driver for it. But only for clicky lights at the moment. Texas Ace has created a driver that should work just as well, but was never commercialized. Lexel has also worked on this stuff recently.
