So when Jason introduced the Icarus driver, he said that there would be an upgrade service available sometime before the end of 2015... Fast forward, and it's now 2017, and I swear the Alpha driver upgrade service just hasn't ever actually been offered. The blue label lights have been unavailable for quite some time, and the theory behind the Alpha custom being a more accessible light sounded great on paper. I've been really trying to hold my breath on this one. I know Jason used to offer swapping LEDs in an Alpha provided the customer pays for the service and provides the LED. I don't know if he still does. It feels like he may be loosing interest in his lights... If the price has to go up to make it worth his time, I'm all for it. I'm hoping for Icarus drivers, Alpha Customs, and dear lord please- a clicky AA light...
for what its worth, i sent in my blue label a while back (maybe a year and a half ago?) and had jason upgrade the LED and the driver to the icarus. after the summer i will probably reach out to him and see if i cant get two more upgraded.

GL would happen to have any info about an upcoming titanium release? seems its only been two drops; and if i recall correctly its been five lights available each time. is there still 90 lights waiting to be built out?
There was a parts back order delay. The parts are now available. A run should be able to be scheduled. I will check with Jason to find out when that is ;)

Clicky AA Got it. I'll pass it along.

The Icarus Upgrade is Going on now. I had posted this in another thread. What You need to do for Icarus Upgrades:

1) Purchase Your Icarus upgrade. Click Here ---> available on the website.
. . .*** Note that by purchasing the upgrade Icarus Driver You are buying a Service and not a product that can be
. . . . . . shipped upon ordering. You must contact Jason to schedule have the upgrade service completed. You can
. . . . . . skip to step 2) if You do not wish to hold on to your funds. Jason will guide You in his response.

2) Send Email to [email protected] with the subject "Icarus Upgrade Order"

3) Wait for the email to get processed. Jason is only one person and sometimes he can not immediately respond to You.
. . Check your spam folder too. Sending more than one request only delays everything. He processes all upgrades in the
. . order they are received. Jason will schedule your upgrade for your light with You individually. That ensures each lights
. . gets the correct customizations. You usually will receive a response within one business day. Please check this thread
. . while You are waiting for detailed information: Icarus Driver Help - *Official Programming Video* .

4) Ship Jason your Alpha to be upgraded. Jason completes upgrades and ships upgrades back to you.

thats good new about the titanium lights and the AA clicky. i wonder if it will be just a larger version of the Beta or if he is going for a whole new design. also i wonder if hes going to go for more of a mass production and farm out the production overseas or if he will have the guys at Hirsch take it on.

As soon as there are announcements, I'll post them. I too hope Jason comes up with an AA light. Your suggestion of an AA with a clicky is awesome idea that rocks! As far as production, I agree, it would be great to have a new light made here in the USA.

Ready made lights with heads machined out of copper. CopperHeads.
And I give permission to use my name provided I get a free or discounted CopperHead. [emoji12]

Feeler request

The Alpha could consider a change in standard emitter one of these days. Not that the MCE is bad at all, it puts out sweet light. But things are always progressing and there's some very good stuff coming along these days, and I'm sure there will continue to be even better in the future.
I'd love to see the Atom series come back. Super simple ultra compact mule. But with the QRv2 on the tail end instead of those silly magnets. Or nothing on the tailcap but a key ring attachment and because we aren't making room for a magnet or QR, the light gets even shorter! It would be barely larger than the battery inside.

Options for warm "incandescent like" emitters in anything. Alphas, Betas, Deltas, Preons, Minis, anything. Between 3000k and 3500k.
That would be a dream come true.

Any thought on a shorty MIL/LEO body?
There are no plans right now :(. The minimum order to get them PVD'ed would not be met.
Each first run of PVD'ed component(s) also require their own one time fixture and tooling to be
made prior to completing the PVD process, first run parts only. PVD coating is a complex
process that requires many other additional steps to get it right and workable.
Suggestion is noted and will be considered for addition to a future PVD run.

This is possible. An Alpha Custom can be ordered with any LED(Die size permittable) You provide to be installed
in making/upgrading of an Alpha or Delta flashlight, But that's not what Your suggestion is :D

I too would enjoy a limited run of Warmness. The problem is lack of Market demand. A warm 3000-3500k emitter is special.
Being it is special, it's appeal is reviled by a specific group of customers who understand and appreciate the warm colored lights.
I will add this suggestion could become true. Prometheus is actively pursuing new products like your suggestion to bring forward.
The success of Kickstarter and MassDrop campaigns leave your suggestion a possibility for future special offerings.

Yep we can install any LED you want to ship us if it is an MCE or another led with and XML or XPG footprint. In order to get the bins we want, we typically have to order a full reel of 1000 LEDs so it's not cost effective. Sometimes you can find good bins from the electronics houses, but it's not worth the time to check their websites every 30 days for specific bins ;)

2AA Quarks are coming !!!
Repost from Foursevens social media:

"
Final Quark samples are in and we are gearing up for a Kickstarter launch. Who's in?! Both lights feature the new hexagon-die Nichia 319A at 5000K and 80+ CRI. The all new QK16L comes with a 16650 li-ion battery and tested at 742 lumens. The revised QK2A comes with 2xAA NiMH batteries and tested at 537 lumens. Upgrades include a new pocket clip, solid copper MCPCB, new configurable UI, and a slightly thicker body for better impact resistance. The best Quark ever!

A nickel AA Quark?! Stop torturing yourself man. You'll never afford it. Live in the now!
I hear You CG.
Unfortunately we may not see the bright P1 prototype Nickel. I think we will see a BB Nickel Quark run after the current releases.

My additional want would be a Stainless Quark in Natural/Stone Washed, and/or polished. Those would be the Bomb :).
