Is it possible to alter the modes of a dual output Surefire? For example the P1R Peacekeeper leads off with 600 lumens and then 15. Is it possible to have it lead off with 15 or is that something that is built into the circuitry? Thanks.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for your reply!

Yeah, it's a bummer Surefire didn't make a low/high model, as well as a smooth bezel option. BTW, not a fan of knurling as well (cuts into stuff, like clothing, etc.), so I threw shrink tubing on the body which works, but I can only use one style of holster due to the added width.

It would have been nice if Surefire had installed a micro switch on the back side of the led/electronics to choose which output activated first so that a precision screwdriver could be inserted into the empty barrel and toggled accordingly. Thanks for your reply!

Yes too bad it doesn't switch to the low mode first.
I usually tap the button twice, before fully pressing the switch, to get into low mode

The Fury has the low mode first and the same lumens of 15 and 600.

The Fury can be bored to accept a 18650, the body is the same external dimensions as the Peacekeeper so it won't be any weeker than the Peacekeeper.

I've not heard any complaints about the Peacekeeper body breaking because it'll accept a 18650.

I've owned a 15/600 P2X Fury with the knurled body for a couple of years now and I think it's an awesome light. I just bought a few more on eBay because they are getting harder to find since it's not being made anymore. There are still some of the single outputs available though. I like the look of the P2X, I'm not crazy about the Intellibeam, and I think that the 600 lumens is a perfect mix of output and runtime. I would still like to have a rechargeable option so I'm considering some 16650 protected Keeppower or Orbtronic 2500mah cells. If I can get the same output and runtimes as primaries I'd be happy. Of coarse 18650's would be ideal but I don't know if I can justify the cost of boring. Maybe I'll also pick up a 600/15 Peacekeeper before they completely dry up. Decisions decisions. 😎
