That is interesting. Were you able to easily disassemble that? Will it go back together?
Don't know much about
That is exactly what the QTC prices I purchased look like. They aren't even expensive.
I don't know much about the assembly however they do come apart quite easily. There is also a little ring that goes around the pill to hold it in place.

Sounds great. I have three on the way. Looking forward to messing with them. Glad to hear they are easy to take apart. More of a hands on learner.

I've never managed to find out how the QTC fits into the Peak.
I assume it goes in tail where there would normally be a spring. Can you only access it on the keychain model?
I have a pocket Eiger and I can't for the life of me see how you can remove or replace it.
Any ideas?

Mine literally just slides down to the bottom. I think that little black ring is like a slip ring spacer to take up room so it fits in the diameter of the tube. I can tap it out and just slide it back in.

The newer Eigers use a outer ring to secure the pill. When inserting it, you push it in until it is close to being seated. Then a little more force will snap it in place. There is a groove in the bottom to accommodate it. I would think getting it out would be rather difficult. I will be speaking to Robyn today, if I can get through to her, and ask about the removal process.

Getting it out of a non-keychain model was a chore for me. Someone may have a better method, but I gave the body a few good (tube-opening down) whacks on a material that wouldn't mess up the light. Once it had worked itself down a little I used a paperclip with a little hook bent on the end to fish it out. Seems like sometimes the spacer can get stuck on the body, which can make it even more of a chore. On non-keychain lights I just take the ring off so switching between QTC and non-QTC is less of a pain. Keep in mind that with the pill free (no black clip) it can wiggle around more, and you will need to unscrew the head more to stop it from flickering a little when being jiggled. It's less of a big deal than it sounds, but just informing you of my experience.

Thank you both, that would be seriously helpful.

Well, I just spoke with Robyn. Her words were "it is very difficult to remove the QTC pill from the pocket and lug models, we usually end up destroying them.
Doesn't look good unless you get lucky and can get it partially dislodged by taping it on a soft surface and somehow hooking it as dk mentioned.
Why do you want to get it out?

Well got my first Peak today. A Copper Eiger, HICRi in medium beam. Been running it off a eneloop pro AAA. It is a delight. Really fun. Yeah the QTC isn't spot on for adjustment, but it does offer adjustment from firefly low to brighter than my Zebralight 18650 headlamp on medium. Not usually into such warm tints but it seems to match this light very well. I was concerned about the medium beam otters being too floody, but this isn't the case. It isn't a 1000lm barn burner and I didn't expect that. But it does offer excellent useable light for most indoor tasks and even navigating some woods trails in the dark.

Really digging this little guy. It is also my first copper light. Probably be my only one but should be fun to watch it age with use and banging around on the key ring.

Overall very pleased and glad I have a couple more on the way. These are excellent backpack lights IMO. Well built, will test but guessing close to 2 hours on a lithium AAA. Enough light for most tasks and prefect for if the power goes out.

Being a "special edition" the copper was a little more spendy than I think it needs to be. But it has a nice weight to it and the knurling/ texturing is nice.

I can see why people like them. Looking forward to the other versions I have coming that will be easier to remove the QTC pill as I want to mess around with it some.

Good suggestion on these TG!

I had to pass as I won't be able to get my mail deliveries for a while. Will probably have to wait for the next run.

Thanks V,
Maybe that'll stop me trying to remove it before I need to.
It's only me wanting to know how things work.
