Bought a Nitecore E4A. It has the worst interface of any torch I have ever owned. Once it is on you can only go to strobe or Turbo. You can't change the level other than that. If you want to change level you have to turn it off then hold the button down while it cycles through the levels till you get to the one you want. And it cycles from the level you turned it off at so if you want to go to a lower level you have to turn it off then cycle through the high levels first.
I'ts got an impresive 4,400 lumen from a small size but really not sure it's worth the hassle.

Was that the EA4? The single button 4xAA light where the button used to 'melt' over time?

Opps. I meant the E4K.

It is a bit weird that interface. To change mode from ON is a click, press-and-hold action (turn off then on again). Why they didn't allow mode changing with a press and hold while ON, doesn't make much sense.

Happy New Year Chaps!

Let's hope we get a chance to meet up this year.

Hope everybody is hale and hearty and still enthused by all things bright and therefore beautiful.

Deffo bringing my lightsabres to the next meet up. Maybe some torches too!

Happy 2021.

Hello Katherine, welcome to the U.K. chat.
Where did you two order yours from? I've been getting adds on Facebook for a British company that makes them. Saberzone.

Thanks, not quite the same thing but I am waiting for my LEP to arrive :)
That saberzone looks really cool! I never knew such a thing existed before, the "Elegance" model looks like something I`d probably go for (if I won the lotto! LOL)

Seems Saberzone are just re-selling Chinese ones for inflated prices.

You should like the LEP. They are impressive but don't really have much practical use.

Welcome to UK chat Katherine indeed! You'll love the LEP.

Jay, We've got several sabres, my son and I. Mostly from Ebay (Chinese and a single UK dealer (For Rey Skywalker's version)) but we did order direct from Saberforge - which was by far the most expensive, but also possibly the best in terms of design and manufacture.

But all of them, cheap or expensive (£60 - £360!!) are fun and seem very much up to the duelling that a Father and his two kids might get up to. Much more resilient than any of the genuine branded Star Wars toys IMHO.

I recommend the Youtube videos of Hollywood stuntwoman (and world class baton twirler) Michelle Christa Smith for tips on how to look cool with a sabre without knocking your teeth out.

Also if you take the blades out, they make quite fun colour changing torches (single level though).

Sub - can you do a review of yours when it arrives???

Happy New Year!

Thanks, I bought the Sky Lumens one from Vinh :)

BTW, just a quick heads up for anyone that hasn`t noticed it yet, but eBay are charging VAT now on everything bought from China, even on something 99p! I`m not sure if this applies to other websites yet though, but eBay is certainly infected.
