I like this configuration. I think this is going to be my seventh Acebeam light. I look forward to seeing a size comparison picture. This light will go very nicely with my Acebeam X45 that I have used regularly for more than a few years. I like large dedicated throwers, large power throwers, and large flooders, and the same in medium and small sizes too.

My only concern are the customized batteries. Only time will tell, but it might be built in.

I like to charge the cells on an external charger and look at the amps and volts and I know that I can try different cells, and all that good stuff, and I do that with most of my flashlights. Sometimes I am in the mood to just plug and chug, and not mess with the cells, and I've got a few high powered flashlights where I don't have to worry about the springs loosing their temper and having a poor connection, because the connections are factory soldered.

I got mine yesterday. It compares favorably with the X45. More lumens in the form of a wider beam, both of which are provided by more emitters in a smaller head diameter with smaller reflector wells with more overlap. I selected 5000K neutral white. Nice tint, and oodles of very wide, extremely bright flood. Flood is this lights' primary forte; the amount of throw that it has is by sheer dint of the eight powerful emitters. Therefore, it has a massive amount of the former, and the expected amount of the latter, which is sufficient for its designed purpose.
For longer run time and less heat generation, lower modes can be selected.
I started out as a flood guy, and only later got into dedicated throwers, such as K70 and K75; and to power throwers, such as X65. This light very much and very happily satisfies my primal, deep seated flood urges. Also, the X50 is tops at brightly illuminating the widest area, for its size classification. Not too big, and not too small. I think that the X50 is currently the most powerful light in its size class, which also happens to be a very useful size classification.

Any chance for a more detailed description of how the 5000k looks? Also, how it shifts as the output increases.

Trying to decide between the 5000 and 6500. Thanks.

Thanks; I really do think that this is a very important light.

The 5000K looks, to my eyes, to be white, not blue nor yellow nor green. My personal subjective tendency is to prefer blue tint, because I do not like yellow. My personal perception is that cold/blue looks brighter than neutral or warmer tint. This light is currently selling for less than I paid seven weeks ago, so I am thinking about getting another one in cool tint.
