Pretty much 2x21mm body is my only short-term goal here. Need about 3-4 of them. Transform my multiple Hound Dogs. Especially the Super one.

Which of the small Malkoffs (or setups) are your favourites? I love the Bodyguard v1, use it as backup to the bigger ones or to my headlamp. Want one of the small ones with both high and low lumens as "EDC" though. Leaning towards the 1AA or 2AA.

The M61W and WL came in the mail today to complement the WLL that I've had a while. I love the new ones just as much as expected. Not sure if I could pick a favorite between the three, they all serve different purposes but all have a very pleasant beam with a very pleasant tint. Now I just need more host lights.

Pup inspection duty is easily handled by the M61W and M61WL out of the 6P. Gotta make sure the little guy ain't misbehavin'.

hi there I have the new Red V1 drop in from the recent Dot GB. in my MD2 before this, I have the new M61 5700k SST. now when I swapped it over and just tested the new M61Red, the brass high low switch ring was not going into low, so just to check, I swapped it back with my M61 5700, and even that now is only working on high.
I switch to low, but nothing. I have not overly tightened the ring either. the pin looks ok, and I am not sure if I should attempt to touch it.
I have written to Cathy to advise about this.

Ya if the anodized gets worn on the threads you will only get high no low.

The threads inside the head. If the ano wears out you will only have high.If you have a gauge you can check for continuity just touch one probe on the threads and one on the outside. You may have a spot of anodizing that has worn off.

I got my first malkoff! It has a high/low switch with an M61N. The high/low head rotation is brilliant. What a tank of a light. I have a few lights with a neutral tint at this point, but this has the best color rendering of them all.

Does anyone know of a good pocket clip that clips into one of the body grooves? I want something fairly deep carry.

I ordered a few different sleeves from Oveready

It arrived today, wow. Thanks for the idea, it works a lot better than the Nitecore sleeves I had. The Nitecore one basically did nothing...BUT As I have already owned a few delrin spacers from Oveready ( mostly cr123 dummies ) I figured it might just work, and it works awesome, thanks for the tip!

And yeah, I do notice rattles, my Malkoffs are users not shelf queens.

Outstanding! I am glad it worked out for you. I am the same way and the rattle makes me crazy(er). I better go buy another set before they sell out!

So I've got a SureFire 6P coming my way, and I'm going to replace the light engine with a Malkoff drop-in. I currently own a Malkoff MD2 with an M61N. I'm waffling about which neutral white option to go with for the 6P.

Just getting another M61N is tempting because 400 lumens is perfect for me -- except when I need less. (I have the hi/lo ring in my MD2; that is perfect.)

The M61NLL is tempting because of its extended runtime, and because 80 lumens won't blow anyone's head off in the dark...but will I really carry a light this large and heavy that puts out fewer lumens than my keychain backup light? It feels like a great option for emergency use but less ideal for EDC.

The M61NL sits somewhere between the two (duh). Solid runtime, but neither quite bright enough for my day-to-day needs nor quite low enough to avoid waking anyone up when I'm using it around the house during the night.

What would you pick?

In my mind, you already have the M61N. You can always swap that over and see if that's an option in the 6p while losing the hi/lo ring. The LL will surprise you with the SST-20 and this reflector design. It's a lot more light than you'd think. I wouldn't rule that out, but I get where you're coming from. I run mine in a vme on a 16340 body for the same reason you said about about the larger lights being less than ideal with that drop in. With that being said, I'll also just throw this out there...but have you considered the warm options? The warmer tint at night might help negate the "not quite low enough" to avoid waking anyone up if you decide on the middle ground L option.

Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't considered the M61W, but I am now. I pulled together 80, 200, and 400 lumen options from my herd and tested them out against each other last night, and 200 surprised me by being handier than I expected.
