thanks everyone , how can a ZWB filter be fitted to the UV 16650 MDC - is that possible ?,
or stick to MD2 UV?
thanks.
It depends on if the crime scene you're trying to clean up is inside or outside. If inside and more than 1 liter of blood, I roll MD2 UV. I wonder what that lady on the new show coming up this Monday called "The cleaning lady" uses. I will be on the lookout.

Copper fits, I've always wondered about those things. Are those yours?

neutralwhite I honestly have no idea. All I know is I have a 16650 body, attached to a E2XT head. I never have used a filter for a flashlight. Just curious what do you plan on using the UV light for? You don't need to have a plan or reason to buy a light we all know that though.

So all of my E heads looks like the "drop-in" are epoxied into the head and aren't coming out.
I do not have a bezel removal tool to verify.
So that leaves you only being able to replace the lens with your filter, assuming you can find one the exact size.

Otherwise you'll have to redneck it and tape the filter to the outside of the flashlight head.
But you'll be in the same predicament with the MD2.

You doing astronomy stuff?

Here are some weights just for comparison: g = grams

Is what you'll find is that in terms of reflector drop-ins...Malkoff is the heaviest that I'm aware of

Appreciate the precision scale. I use an older GX-2000 myself (re branded BOSCH lol). Ive found more accurate scales to be unreliable outside of controlled laboratory conditions. That & the "warm-up" period has to be observed for consistent results (less critical at 0.01g), making them very inconvenient to work with for me. Im curious at to what you use for FX-120i for? Do you work in a lab? Also (y) for metric.

GX-2000 is a very nice scale

The FX-120i and others such as the Sentris 64-1S measure magnetic force.
They do not have to warm up and don't drift because they measure magnetic force.
But since they measure magnetic force...I can measure 50g at my house...go to your house and I might measure 48g or 52g.
For me, consistency and speed is more important than actual weight. I need to get to a quasi-consistent number as quickly as possible.

You're spot on with highly sensitive scales being unreliable outside of the controlled conditions. Pretty much need a draft-free room made out of marble and in a stand-along structure to get real serious. haha. It's the same with micrometers. Mitutoyo has a micrometer that is so sensitive the measurement changes just by turning on the light. Heat from your fingers will change the measurement.

I use the FX-120i and Sentris 64-1S to reload for benchrest matches. Just looking at the Sentris too hard will change the measurement. lol
It's actually annoying so I mostly use the FX-120i. I have a few beam scales, too, but never use them.
I also reload for demanding hunters wanting extreme ammunition.
And I guess I use it to weigh drop-ins. haha

I don't work in a lab, but it would be fun to be a Metrologist

E2XT series unscrew, you would want a strap wrench I think. The smaller MDC heads use the removal tool sold on the Malkoff site.

Absolutely floored by my M61T MD3, pictures with the Prometheus clip. High is marginally brighter than in an MD2. Low is noticeably brighter on 9v than 4.2 or 6. It brings it up to a super useable level, which will make this the absolute workhorse I was looking for.

I love the knurling pattern on the MD3 body. It feels smooth to the touch but when you grip it harder, the crisp edges bite and grip back. Thought it looked better with the updated tailcap style.

Enjoy your weekend!

ETA: Used it to inspect the flywheel teeth on my truck today. The low mode was perfect for up-close inspection work but still threw enough to see way up into the bellhousing. The high mode with the tight throwy beam was perfect to see deep into the engine compartment against the bright sun.

A leather belt and knipex cobras do the trick. I've done it to multiple heads this way with no damage to the finish.

Right on TG. We've been lucky here in the sticks of Illinois, no big snow yet.
