What is the largest EDC you've ever carried?

I just saw you once carried the Smoke Cutter and 3/4 cell Maglites, hence why I asked if you had been LEO at one point.

The beam of the ProTac EMS was/is not a hit at all. Supposedly it was some kind of thing where it was made to check pupil reaction. Mine would turn off it the tail cap was even the slightest bit loosened and the o'ring is thin enough to not offer much resistance so it loosened easily. I put a wee bit of foil over the threads to aid in resistance and add contact area for the circuit so if it did twist some it still works.

The City I work (at my Full-Time job) in is "economically depressed", with various "projects" and extremely high crime areas, that generally have minimal/no lighting, thus having an appropriate flashlight is wise.

Many homes that we go into also have minimal/no lighting available, so having a good flashlight, again, is wise.

It is not unusual for apartments to have 1 functioning lightbulb, that is moved from room-to-room, for light.

SureFire 9P in an aftermarket double-open holster.

Yeah, that didn't last too long.

Before I joined up here, I used to carry a 4 D cell maglite when working some sites before they were banned by the Solicitor General's office. I had one mine site where they required us to carry those big 8D cell pelican lights with the removable handles. I think the model number was 4000 but its been so long.

A promethius alpha. Was quite large for me. Was better as a camp light.

Now it's my noctigon kr4. Wish they made one with similar features for a 14500 battery, that would be awesome.

Biggest for me was/is a MD3/M91. To me it's not much bigger then a 6P but gives me the output and throw I like at work. Around town or running to the store I usually carry a MDC 16650.

I carry a malkoff md3 or surefire c3 regularly. They are not bad but probably about as big of a light I can get away with pocket carry.

Years ago, I carried a streamlight nano. They were all the rage! I wouldn't recommend it on a bet.
As the paint wore off, I went with the... it adds character mindset. Within a year... it had LOTS of character

I then went with a Thrunite Ti a AAA number that is still on my son's key chain, but a little big for me.

I like small. One key will open any door, and dead-bolt in my house, and even a padlock so that I don't have to carry multiple keys and bulk up my pocket.
So I went with a CNQ stainless AAA light. It's a twisty it and the 4sevens Atom were the smallest AAA lights at the time, maybe still.

I was gifted a coo yoo Quantum by a friend overseas and have never looked back. I did get one of those key fob sized Manker's. Great light, and fine for the ladies who carry a handbag, but too large for key chain in the pocket carry for me.

My BIGGEST EDC, was actually a Car Carry light.
A 3D Maglite.

Pictured is a AAA cell, the CNQ stainless AAA light, and a TrustFire L1 (about the same size as the Thrunite T1). And a 3 D cell Maglite.

Surefire M3 running of 17500*2 and the high power lamp (can't remember as I am laying here by the pool in Marrakech ;) )
That's at home, but this holiday it's a surefire z2 combat light with a 16650 and 3 mode kaidomain 519b P60?

In the past I have EDC'd fairly large 18650 lights like the Fenix TK11 or a Solarforce, but there were definite drawbacks.

When carried in a jeans pocket, the size of the light quickly caused wear on pants material where the light constantly protruded as I sat, squatted, climbed ladders, etc. I tried belt holster carry but it was a hassle because it always seemed to be snagging on something. Had one nylon holster almost get the loop torn completely off when it caught on something (can't remember, it was years ago).

Nowadays I'm just belt-carrying a slender light on my belt, typically a Quark 2AA or 2x123a size. It tucks in close enough to not get in the way.

It's the classic tradeoff between capability and convenience of the stuff we carry <shrug>

I tend to keep at least one "blaster" size light in my backpack that I take back and forth to work.

And I enjoy cold weather seasons because that means I can put a larger light in a big inner coat pocket and carry stuff I wouldn't normally carry in the summer. :)

That's exactly why I love tube lights. Even for large cell sizes like 21700, they really don't stick out that much. An S2+ basically disappears in my pocket, especially if it's the same pocket as my wallet, as both are about the same length and thickness.

When I started into law enforcement (I retired in 2008) we were all issued Maglight 4D cell flashlights.

At work for many years and now they use these flashlights, but then I learned about good flashlights and since then the biggest one has been the Pelican 2000 sabrelight, which I gave to a friend. Now my biggest SF U2

The last 3 years working night security I had a Mag 4 D cell, upgraded with a 200lumen led bulb.
I'm content with my Atactidal A1 now days.
