Muyshondt has really disappointed. I will never buy from him again. Am I wrong here?

If he sends the flashlight back to them and they don't accept it they've still lost that money. They can't refurb it and resell it, it's not economically viable to rip out the electronics and slap it into another host.

If you want to make sure you can get the service you want then you have to read the fine print, especially since so many companies already have policies against returns on copper etc.

If OP wants to get money back he should try to sell it instead, maybe he won't get all the money back but it'd be some of it, in this current situation that's a better approach than to force a company to go against their own policies because he's butthurt.
I wouldn't sell a defective light to the nice people that hang around this website. That would be the exact same thing I'm faulting Muyshondt for.

As a business owner I have to say that not immediately replacing a faulty item out of the box, legal or otherwise, is just crappy customer service. Sometimes you eat things in the name of doing business, and this would be one of those times. If a replacement is not available, you offer a refund and go on.

Anyway bottom line is anyone thinking about purchasing something from Muyshondt should read this post. He has now stopped responding to my emails. No offer to fix. No offer to replace. No refund. No nada.

Once upon a time I bought a $75,000 car and it got a flat tire. Turns out I didn't like the car so I tried to get my money back. Nope, they wouldn't give me a refund and I should not have to drive around in a repaired car. That car company sucks.
Nuf said?
This is not the same thing. At all.

One thing here stands out a bit, the driver looks like it has excess solder around the holes. Is that the case or is it just the image playing tricks?

^^ wow, that was hurtful! Finally a sensitive Muyshondt owner has shown up to this thread. I realize your Maus is tiny but you don't have to berate me for your insecurity.
Don't know what your problem with reality is but you started saying that there were no good N batteries even though many of us have had great luck with them. Your insecurity shows when you can't even stay on topic.

Sorry about the hurt too, but since there was nothing said that would affect a normal individual, that's 100% on you.

Care to show us any evidence of Nferiority?

You bought it with the intention of using it, it stopped working properly. Mfgr offered to repair it. You have buyer's remorse. Send it in, get it fixed, and move on. We all buy things on occasion and have second thoughts. Suck it up, or sell it post repair, and drive on. Funny, I seem to remember we used to have a "Cheers and Jeers" section here with criteria for posting and this would have quickly run it's course and not been on it's 4th page in General Flashlight Discussion. 🙄

You gotta be kidding... you missed the sarcasm and humor. Maybe on the spectrum?? Good luck with your faith in the great N battery.

To see another thread degenerate into name calling & childish slander really disappoints me. This Forum has a great community and Its not often that it lets me down. I really dont want to see this turning into a YouTube comment section, especially since most members here should be out of high school by now.

Yes, actually I did, but tried to get back on course and ignored the most negative part of your post in hopes of going back to the subject.

My great faith in the N cell, as you put it, has more to do with a pragmatic understanding of life and being able to accept that while most things are far from perfect, many serve their purposes, especially if the user understands that it really boils down to the owner to use due caution.

The reason that these imperfect cells work so well for most of us is because we check them, and even though it's hard for you to believe, I've had no problem with any of my N or CR2 lights. The Maus really is a great light with well balanced spacing between its three levels, really nice tint and versatile beam pattern. Not trying to sell you on it, just pointing out that even if a light doesn't make sense to you, doesn't mean it isn't perfect for someone else's needs.

^^ if you have read my posts instead of latching on to simple words like "stupid" which described the battery, you would have learned that I have owned a number of Muyshondt lights, including your precious maus, and currently only have one, an aaa mako. Enrique's suspect marketing and sourcing of his lights, not to mention his choice of batteries😉, make his current crop of lights just more pocket jewelry usually seen on fb and instawank. His earliest iterations appeared to cater to users looking for durability and long battery life, more industrial and utilitarian. Now they're just pretty. Caveat Emptor!

Just a standing offer.... Let me know if you ever get sick of that Mako and want to part with it one day.

My two favorite lights are one of the earliest and one of the latest. Bronze Aeon and copper Maus, but the latter on a neck lanyard really has been a greatly functional light for me.
