So as the title says I need something for work thats about 6-7 inches in length, takes 18650 or 27whatever it is and pushes out good brightness with a nice flood/throw. I've had a few sofirn which were ok but not bright enough, along with the rest of the budget home Depot/Amazon Chinese knockoffs.

Working as a .. security guard, auto mechanic, nurse? Throw to 25yds or 250? Flood .. 10" circle at 18" or floor to ceiling at 10'? Bright .. as in no shadows outdoors at noon on a cloudless day or O dark thirty inside a warehouse? Do you need to see true color(s)? Run times an issue? At least name some of the lights you have used.

More detail would really help here.

May take awhile. Chinese New Year starts Monday, which I suspect effectively means it's already begun. But I really want the S2+ I linked to. It nails everything I want except the ability to screw a clip to it. 5A CC OP HiCRI 3500K Nichia 519A on copper, smooth bezel without crenellations, a simple attractive tube without pretense, and there's an 18350 body available, all for about 20 bucks. For all that, I guess I can deal with the clip on universal deep carry clip. I'll probably succumb to ordering a couple myself in a few months, even though the S2+ I ordered in 2020 never arrived.

There's screw on clip options. The Jetbeam short clip looks nice. Convoy has a screw clip as well for $2

Two of these drop-ins in the tint you like, including checking the box for the E6 host (extra $6)
$36 total for two complete lights gives a you some extra cash to get some 18650s' from illumn

I didn't think you could do that.

Jetbeam will sell their short and long clips separately. I think they are $1.50 each.
Or if you like the convoy clip you can order them from usa based mtnelectronics or direct from aliexpress.

The jetbeam have a matte finish. But nothing wrong with with Convoy clips. I like them both.

With the hole spacing you can put just about any clip on there. The laulima clips work as well.

Sofirn SC31 Pro is my go-to recommendation. Uses 1x 18650, has a built-in charger, illuminated power button (selectable), Andruil, available in neutral white or 6500K. Instant turbo from off, stepless dimming down to a very low moon mode, and can be found pretty darn cheap if you look around. I've bought them for $20 before.
