Here's a light inspired by @jon_slider . Jetbeam RRT01 variable output rotary. LED is a 519a 5000k dedome. One of my fav.

For the moonlight crowd…I can get it so low the camera can't detect its output. The datasheet says .01 Lumens. Not sure what that looks like but I can it low enough to where I can barely detect it in a pitch black room.

^ Was disassembly much headache?

I like the earlier versions without tail switch, tho never owned one

just unscrew the bezel using a rubber pad for grip. This light is very well made.

The tailswitch can be used or doesn't have to be used. It's neat because you can turn it on either using the rotating bezel or by the switch. I have the 18500 and 18650 extension tubes.

This light takes a CR123, 16450, 18350, 18500, 18650. I've got an Oveready spacer for the 14500. Hard to beat that versatility

I'm not sure what lumen level this is but it's barely detectable to my eye. Jet RRT01. And I can consistently crank it this low. I wish I had an HDS rotary to compare lowest lows with. Obviously a super hard users like us don't use lows.

S2+ 18350 body + Jetbeam Short Clip + 519a

The S2+ OP beam is as good as the beam from a MCR reflector. I can't say enough good things about this $15 host

If you like the S2+ beam, try the S2 (non+). It has a smaller pill and deeper reflector that makes a beam very similar to a Haiku. Nice and tight with no wasted lumens, but still smooth and wide enough for general use.
