Would ya purchase one?

It's an easy yes for me.

Yes, but also would have preferred had the police not closed public roads for it. There was no emergency. GM has access to their own testing facility with roads. Do the police work for GM now?

It's stunts like that why so many people no longer respect police officers. A small bit of open abuse of power is still going to leave a bad taste in many people's mouths.

No I would not, at least not for me. Too old, too fat, too stoved up to climb in and out of the darn thing.

I'd give it to one of my boys perhaps but for the fact that one would lose it in a card game, another sell it on eBay and the others already drive better cars than I do.

Mrs Fixer would trade it for a Miata and some ca$h 👍

Reminded of the time I was helping a friend shopping for used cars and had to test drive a Miata because they took a work call. Immediately determined that I was too freaking tall to safely drive that generation - my left leg was pinned between the steering wheel and door giving me just enough range of motion to actuate the clutch. I've disliked Miatas ever since however they ultimately bought another Miata.

That much weight so low to ground, add 10 sec quarter mile speeds.. Driver's won't need a coffin, they can just dig a hole and bury you and the car
Nothing like driving a car that wants to murder you, and is happy to destroy itself in the process! After a crash, she knows she can be rebuilt. They all know....

When I still wore cloth diapers there was a neighbor who had given his son a new vette that the son soon after crashed and was killed.

In the backyard of their home the dad had the car placed into the backyard swimming pool and the pool filled with concrete. He sold the home soon after. To this day the current owner probably does not know that underneath of the garage in their back yard is a swimming pool filled with concrete and a 1966 corvette.

Honestly, never understood the mentality of parents who do that.

If I had a son, he's getting an old, slow, beat-to-hell, Dodge Ram truck. I'll pay for a cheap spray job, and try to find one with no dents. Daughter? She's getting an old Volvo station wagon.

The E-Ray will have an LS motor in the back, which I find kinda uninteresting for way over $100K delivered.

Last Fall in a tiny town near me there was a car show get together that I didn't know was happening.
Driving past looking at the cars one stood out over all the classic & custom cars.
It was a orange mid 60s' split window, with some kind of LeMans package option,, narrow factory spec whitewall tires. Mint condition
I'v seems alot of nice cars in my life at concours & at RA, but this was truly a fantastic car.

No brainier if I had a choice of that over an E-Ray,, not even close.

Oh yes, many times when I was younger, it was only about 25 miles away from my home. Since I've moved to Sierra foothills, we haven't gone to the races in years.
There was a change in proprietorship a few years back. The new owners did a complete revamping of the track. I hear it's really fast now.
Vintage events are cool, as well Trans Am Speedfest is a must see. Buy pit passes if they still offer them to public.

It's a beautiful venue. Salinas sits just behind Monterey a couple clicks away. If you ever visit bring hiking equipment such as backpacks, boots, shorts. Plenty of water, trail mix, and don't forget sun block.
I never missed the Superbike events and if you like vintage 4 stroke road racing bikes AHRMA is the event you don't want to miss.
Sitting around the cork screw is the most happening spot. Be prepared to walk more than a few miles that day (-;
