I came across this while on amazon and and it's really a nice little 2x aa incan for only $8 and change. Its listed on the package as 8 lumens for 2.5 hours but looks brighter with fresh cells. Seems to be the same brightness as a minimag or even a smidgen more. It has a better beam profile than the mag. I will enjoy using it.

Looks like it would only require one of my hands to operate too, so the ROV gets my vote! Looks like a good 'toolbox' light, etc.

The Rayovac industrial series are actually fairly robust for cheap plastic flashlights. Not great at holding up after being dropped onto concrete floors from 10 feet up thiugh. But for around the house or emergency glove box purposes they were great. A fairly durable repairable slider switch and copper parts inside meant they last year after year. The stimpled reflector ensures bulb artifacts are reduced too.

Just be sure to use lithiums to ensure the potential alkaline leakage doesn't spoil your fun.

Is it a pr bulb that pushes into a holder in the body?
If its like the 2d at the shop it seems undamaged by a kpr141 on nicads.
And even a 800ma 7.2v halogen on 2x 26650.
Kpr141 and eneloops ftw

The disco ball reflector definitely cleans the beam up compared to a mag. It's about the perfect brightness for around the house or taking the pup in the yard before bed. I'll try it on our walk to the park tonight, should be great for that too.

Because it has bigger reflector.

I figured that was the reason.

I'm not sure what kind of bulb it is. What exactly is a pr bulb? This bulb is attached to the body and the bezel/reflector/lens screws off in one piece.

Looks like a good candidate for glove box as the yellow would be easy to see. I keep a yellow Dorcy brand 2AA light in my glove box.

Left is a bi-pin
Middle is a PR
Right is an E10

Bi-pin is a base for many many bulb modules or used in lights like the minimag incan. There are various bi-pin models

PR means "pre-focused" used in radios, automobiles and flashlights

E10 is Edison 10mm. The standard house light bulb is E26

My 2aa Rayovac industrial uses a bi pin bulb.
