I don't get the cognitive dissonance shot. There are plenty of quality products where service or warranty repair is far less than stellar. If you don't realize this, you're lucky or need to get out more. It's common. ZL told me $15 and 4 months. I've also read on different forums about lights being shipped, and lost in transit. Call it anecdotal or anecdata, I'm only going on the information available to me.

Yeah, you did, or you wouldn't be arguing as though you did. I trust Zebralight but I don't trust Zebralight. It wasn't any profound observation, and I'm just as imperfect as the next guy either if it's my mistake or you just can't admit imperfection, either way. If Zebralight says $15 and 4 months, there's no reason not to trust that. They're a tiny company considering the number of employees and their revenue. They have customer service, and that's how long it takes, and we have nothing that says otherwise. The idea that they would lose your light and not make it right, insinuating this, being paranoid about it, it just isn't fair to Zebralight. You bought their product, good for you. It doesn't entitle you to whatever turnaround service you're expecting because it probably just isn't possible. So you're welcome to do as you wish, void your warranty and get your light back faster, and next time, if there is one with that light, Zebralight's service will no longer be an option. Best of luck in your choices, and I know how you feel.

Btw, Zebralight expressly wrote in their email to me "We cannot be responsible for lost packages." So there goes your theory about them making it right, since they don't make the SC62 anymore.

Great news, everyone! SC5c Mk II Limited Edition has disappeared. Zebralight has discontinued AA flashlights. There may still be AA headlamps, however.

They aren't completely discontinued. They will be releasing the SC53 LE model within a few weeks per an email they sent. Not exactly sure on the led, but got a feeling it will be the LH351D

Personally, I love the AA Zebralights. Being able to use a common AA is convenient, not to mention they are super small (SC53 model) for a simple carry light

I was hoping to buy five LE, but it would have been a few months from now. I expect there will be a Mk III, and its price will probably be adjusted for inflation. In the event anyone took me seriously, my recent comments above were in jest, as anyone can see they're obviously going out business.

Could be an error of the website, it is not listed as discontinued on the website discontinued products page or in the Google sheets comparison table.

Zebralight CS confirmed to someone in /r/flashlight on Reddit that the SC5c Mk II LE is discontinued and there are currently no plans to replace it. The SC53c LE is supposed to be released in a couple weeks though.

Got my SC5c Mk II LE just in time then. I love it. And still love my SC62.

I think they mean lost package from you to their USA office. It'd be worth asking for clarification on whether they mean _their_ internal shipping to China. And, yeah, of course, if it's a discontinued light, then if they did lose it, the best they can do is offer you the closest equivalent.
The fact that they don't do any repairs in the USA is a serious shortcoming that I don't fully understand. The turn around time of 3+ months is awful. They are using container-ship speed instead of DHL or something (which I use all the time, week or two turn around). It's great that the repair cost is usually zero. But, 3 months? Really? Doesn't feel like the service is as premium as the product. But, whatever, I've used it a few times because, well, there's not much alternative, and I wanted my light repaired. Not like it was my only flashlight. One _was_ new enough that I personally think they should have swapped it out from USA stock. IDK what their time limit (if any) on that is. Often takes me over 30 days to look at a new purchase in any detail.

If the SC5 is to be no more, of any emitter type, then I think I'll buy two of the SC53c when it shows up, figuring the SC53 is going the same way. I mean... I _like_ their 18650 lights... just not as much.

Unless it means an updated version is in the works. The SC5m2 and 53 are pretty old, at this point. But, I presume it just means no more AA lights.

Well, for one, if Reddit says it's so, it's probably not. But even if Reddit is accurate, Zebralight's interests are, as are all sellers everywhere always, in selling the product in inventory they have for sale and not having their customers wait for a new model to purchase. For two, usually when Zebralight discontinues a model, it's only to replace it with an updated new model. Mk II suggests Mk III and Mk IV, and we at least have evidence of that.

And there sure does seem to be a dearth of flashlight models available at Zebralight. Compare today to just over 3 years ago when there were four times as many available. One might be able to predict we are on the precipice of an avalanche of new Zebralight flashlight releases. Or they're going right out of business. Hard to say, really.
