Yes, but for now it also makes no sense, since there is no spare 5-pin connector. There is also a 3 wire there, when the lamp is on, if it is closed to "-" it turns off the lamp until it is disconnected

I just purchased a hellfighter and UH-01D cable. I assume I just need a 12v adapter (UH-01DA) but its hard to find now.
I have this photo.
Its the original Hellfire before the name change.
I also have a mint one in my collection I have never seen another Hellfire in mint never used condition has anybody out there seen another one?

I am thinking to get a UH-01DA or make one but I am not sure what connecter model is used in the end of UH-01D cable

On the connector itself there is an inscription what kind of plug or socket it is. I think the same as indicated in the 1st post of the topic. Digikey has all these types of connectors at a good price.
The Surefire cables are bulky and not very useful unless you need the remote trigger. Uses a junky Partsexpress cigarette lighter plug, too. If you're going to make a cable, make one that plugs into the back of the light itself. The connector there is simpler and cheaper.

Could you help me out sir? I got a hellfighter with no cord and would really love to test it. I am no stranger to tinkering with stuff(mostly guns) but I haven't the first clue about electrical/electronic stuff.
Anyone?
I already ordered the wrong cable and returned it off ebay because it did say "12v" in the title, but after scouring the web it seems like the only places that have a OEM 12v cig adaper cable are like $500.
Is there a step by step anywhere on how to make one?

Concerning making a cable... I have gleaned what I did from this forum and a little trial and error myself... So here goes...
The easiest way to get the plug may be to scavenge one from an power cord OEM cord.. The OEM plugs are sealed with some sort of epoxy that can be removed with a heat gun but be careful.
If you prefer to not go that route, the part number for the end is Amphenol PT06E-14-5S .. There are many variants to this to determine the strain relief used or plug housing.. I sourced a PT06A-14-5S(SR) from DigiKey
This is a 5 pin plug and the pins are clearly labeled A,B,C,D,E
You will also need a 12V cigar type plug or 12V accessory plug, along with some suitable 2 conductor wire
Pin A & C are jumpered together inside the plug
Pin B is 12VCD+
Pin D is not used
Pin E is DC Ground
The Hellfighter draws about 7amps on startup and settles at around 3amps
10amp fuse should be fine for exteranl wiring protection. I read somewhere here the the operating
voltage for the light is 11.5VDC to 30VDC but I would think to never have the voltage over 24VDC as that would be common in the military

The Hellfighter draws a substantial amount of current, more than the OEM cigarette plug was designed to handle in fact.
Here's a basic schematic if you're trying to make a straight cable. The main military connector's pin's are labeled and I've used that same lettering. DC+ comes in on pin B, goes through the handle switch, out through pin A, then back to pin C and to the ring terminal on the head. DC- goes clean through pin E to the center terminal on the head. The reason for the wonky circuit through A/C is to allow for a cable-mounted remote switch the original applications had, like on the spade grips of an M2 machine gun.
You're going to need the 5-pin military connector (the model # escapes me but you can Google--it's available from commercial electronics suppliers) for the end of the cable. You'll also need a stout cigarette plug (not a great means of supplying power--I'd suggest using a different power source,) some good quality rubber SJ cable (IIRC 16 guage,) and misc supplies. Adhesive-lined heat shrink tube works really well to clean up the cable ends. When you're soldering the connector you'll probably find the original rubber pin insulator gets in the way. I'd suggest skipping that and instead potting the solder joints in hot glue or silicone seal once you're done. Other than that it's a simple arrangement for someone with soldering skills.
Note on the cigarette plug if you need to go that route: Nobody makes "good" ones, or at least didn't when I had a Hellfighter. Surefire used some flimsy underrated one from Partsexpress. I found a better one from a marine supplier and used that. But in both cases the only way to make it work was to gut the connector and run the SJ cable directly to the teriminals. Otherwise the tiny wires inside the plug would be insufficient for the load. So if you don't have to use it in a car, use a different power connection. I did one with alligator clips and another with RC battery terminals, but you could use anything you wanted.

I believe I was able to build mine because of you previous posts. I put deans connectors on my cable so I could connect to various ends as well.. Alligator clips, DC power ends or whatever else the occasion may call for...
