    Nitecore SRT6

I think stray magnetic fields seem to be responsible for the occasional flicker or strobing when the light is at either end of its adjustment range. Sometimes just rotating the light will do it

Can anyone verify Nitecore SRT6 now shipping with U2 binned emitter?

Double is less than you would think. It would be hard to call an increase of 10% by eye with both lights in hand if the bin color wasn't exactly the same. I think going up a bin on the XM-L2 is about an average of 7.2% more light. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Can anyone verify Nitecore SRT6 now shipping with U2 binned emitter?

After calling BJ back their product manager did some research and told me they enter their own part numbers and it was simply a typo from a previous first gen XM-L light with a U2 bin, and not an XM-L2. to the best of his and my knowlege their SRT6 is T6 bin. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337...

Various Nitecore branded li ion cells...

HKG has some very revealing graphs of voltage sag over time. Once you are over 2600 mAh interesting things start to happen. The catch is he logs 1A and 5A. The sag isnt a problem at 1 A but weird things happen at 5A. It seems that anything over 2600 mAh really commands a price premium over...

    Nitecore SRT6

Liking my 6. Would trade the SOS mode for the beacon mode of the 7 and wish for an emitter upgrade to U2 or U3 bin. Otherwise would like to see a 7 sized light with the above plus black light capability instead of RGB colors. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

    small but mighty....

EA4 not a bad choice for your budget, +1 again. Not sure if Nitecore has a stock diffuser for it, but if you are setting up shots for bounced lighting/indirect light it may not matter. Coming from a 6D mag you will be amazed at how much more area you can paint evenly. If you need super bright...

    small but mighty....

Instead of zoomable you may consider a light with and adequate hotspot for the longest distance you will realistically use it for, and add a slip-on diffuser for close up work. Most of the zoomable lights have horrible beam quality at one extreme or the other. Here I am assuming you mean...

I guess I don't have any idea what I want...

Razzle, with ERAU and the general strong pro 2nd Amendment environment (not to mention intentional lack of streetlights) I suspect there are several of us Prescottonians here on CPF! I am actually in PV. Based on your join date, and your post count, it looks like you have been busy lately!

I guess I don't have any idea what I want...

So I have a Nitecore SRT6 and am REALLY liking the overall styling and design, near 1000 lumen max, single 18650/two cr123 size, "continuously" variable (I count 42 distinct levels) brightness, and magnetic ring mode select. I also really like the grey color because I have enough black anodized...

HKJ, thanks for your reply and for the considerable amount of time and effort you expend testing. I would guess it is equal parts love of a hobby balanced with "I have HOW MANY items waiting for review?!?" Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

I replied once but didnt see it post. THANKS Overclocker, that is most of the info I need. Is there a resource anywhere that shows what vendor use which rebranded cells so I can figure which cells on that comparator might be Samsung or Panasonic Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Various Nitecore branded li ion cells...

I have an SRT6 that draws around 2.75 A when using 18650 cells. I understand that the lower/mid capacity (2600 mAh) cells sag less under load than high capacity (3400 mAh) cells becauae the high capacity cells trade off some lower internal resistance in the quest for maximum capacity at low to...

    Beacon Mode

Not sure of the specs of those beacon modes, but I would use something like an aircraft strobe. One flash per second, just long enough duration to percieve full brightness. Maybe 100-150 milliseconds on time. Could stretch to once every 2 seconds but no ramping up or down with the on time...

Nitecore: Build me an SRT 6.5!

I see from Selfbuilt's review of the SRT7 that JetskiMark and maybe MrFunk had already expressed an interest in seeing U.V. capability implemented in the SRT7. I can also confirm the turbo detent on my sample has just a little play in it, and if you go towards the strobe setting and take up all...

Nitecore: Build me an SRT 6.5!

Ok, I got my SRT6 and am totally happy with it meeting my expectations. I was torn hard between it and the SRT7, but really didn't want the extra complexity of three additional color modes. THAT BEING SAID, I live in Arizona and having a blacklight/near UV light is practical and useful for...
