    H2 halogen bulbs.

I recently accquired a couple of pairs of vintage Cibie aux lights, a pair of 175 Ceasar spot lights and a pair of Oscar Plus driving lights. These old Cibie take H2 bulbs, which are pretty much impossible to get hold of. I was able to get my hands on some blue tinted, "for ultra white...

Do Cibie Oscar and Cibie Oscar SC use the same housing?

As Virgil says, the Oscar SC lens/reflector unit will fit the standard Oscar housing, the housings are actually the same part numbers. They will not for the slimline Oscar junior or larger Super Oscar housing. The Oscar SC panel mount units will also fit Oscar housings after you remove the...

Cornering Lights as a Driving Aid

My wife's Citroen C5 has both static halogen cornering lights and active HID which swivel with the steering, and the Isuzu tow truck I drive has halogen cornering lights. I originally dismissed them as gimmicks but am now convinced they are effective. What would be the best way to wire front...

    Round Ford fog light replacement?

They had numerous issues with those lights. The original plan was to mount them in the grille, however that caused air flow restrictions to the cooling system which was deemed unacceptable, even with the HD cooling system we got. So the next option was to mount them in the bumper, which Ford...

New to forum, old to lights (2 questions on Hella 4000 for my golf)

Firstly, why do you want/need better lights? Are your OE headlights aimed correctly, this may be a shock to you but new cars don't always have properly aimed lights. Since you have a current model VW with halogen lights I would assume you've found them seriously lacking, as most people do...

    1998 Isuzu Trooper lighting improvement

My concern with chasing an E-code light for the Trooper is the likelyhood they'd be the same as the lights you can already get in the US. The Isuzu Trooper isn't a common vehicle in Europe so the likelyhood of finding genuine E-code lights maybe slim, and as we all know, just because it claims...

    Round Ford fog light replacement?

Australian market 2000 Mustangs used auxilary high beams mounted in the front bumper cover to meet Australian design rules for high beam lights, the OE US export, Japan spec iirc, couldn't meet our standards. They used a 90mm Hella halogen high beam module, they went for that module due to...

    Who installed led light bar?

Another question is, what lightbar are you looking at running? I've get to see a lightbar mounted on the roof that doesn't produce excessive glare on the hood of the vehicle. Personally for normal usage I see no point of running an LED lightbar on the roof.

Amber turn signals vs. red turn signals

ROW Mustangs use an amber turn signal in the outer most segment.

HELLA ValueFit 4SQ LED 2.0 Work Lamp

It's hard to go past Hella products in general. Although in my experience their cheaper products are average performers, but still much better than no-name, and even some "name" brands.

Using yellow low beams as a replacement for fog lights?

Firstly, what car turns the low beams off with front fog lights? I've never seen that before, VW turns the front fog lights off with when you turn high beam on with certain models, Mk IV Golf/Bora/Jetta being the main ones. I believe ECE regs require the front fog lights to be turned on, if...

Overwattage H2 Bulb in a Halogen Fog Light

Not just Cibie H2 bulb holders, I cooked the reflectors and bulb holders on my Oscar SCs running 100w bulbs. I've gone well away from over wattage globes these days, didn't even bother upgrading the Hella rallye 1000s from 55 w.

    Auxiliary Light Support

The additional support is especially noticable on long range "spot" or pencil beams. On my current setup I'm using support straps on my spread beam lights as they're mounted on a suspended bar while my pencil beams are mounted above the mounting bracket.

Tried and tested light intstall, upgrading from LED to halogen!

I should clarify that my subjective opinion, ie baseless other than what my eyes register with no techinal proof, is highbeam isn't as good as it could be. Considering how good low beam is, again in my subjective opinion only with no technical support, my expectations were pretty high...

Tried and tested light intstall, upgrading from LED to halogen!

After many years of faffing about I've finally upgraded the lighting on my Citroen. The OE halogen lights are extremely good, on low beam. However high beam is lacking, not surprising really since how often do most people actually use highbeam? First step in the upgrade was replacing the...
