Will I turn into a Maglite fan once again?

Only article with a picture I was able to find is here. Sure looks different, but this is from Jan 2020, so it would be about time to actually release it. Still I can't even buy the ML150LRS here in Europe.

Incoming - What do you have coming in the mail??

I've ordered the Foursevens Quark QK2A MKIII in slate blue. Seems like a nice color and wanted another 2xAA light in my collection and EDC rotation. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for the new 2021 Mini ML MkIII which still has some issues Jason / Darksucks is getting resolved. So when this comes in...

    Modern Maglite collections

Good idea, that works too, but this is one of my bump-in-the-night lights on my night stand, so I wouldn't want it to have the tailcap turned off. It's there with a Fenix PD36R to allow quick access to very decent lights.

    Modern Maglite collections

Thanks for the tip, that might really save me some money (getting Maglite batteries in Europe is expensive). I've set a monthly reminder to charge the ML150LR now (I do charge it when I've used it for a longer period, but this seems like some solid maintenance advise).

Single CR123A to replace Fenix P2D/PD25

How about the Acebeam TK16? It's controllable with a tail clicky. It has optional Hi CRI, three LEDs (I picked the SST-20 version) and uses either a 16340 or a CR123A. Battery runtime is fairly good.

Incoming - What do you have coming in the mail??

I'm still waiting for the Foursevens Mini ML MkIII 2021 edition. Darksucks / Prometheus / Jason sent out an e-mail detailing what had went wrong in production. Really great that they only want to ship out a light that is according to their standard. It's a good reason to wait a bit longer.

What did you use your flashlight for today?

I used my Foursevens Mini ML MkIII to find my Elzetta G-EDC-RCR which had rolled under a cabinet. Really similar lights, I still love the twist action on them. I also used my Petzl Actic Core setting up the christmas tree (had to fasten the tree stand from under the tree in a somewhat dark...

    New Fenix Lights 2021

They are on PD35 V3.0 already, so a new upgrade would become V4.0.

What are your experiences with the Fenix and Olight brands?

I too own many lights from both Fenix and Olight. Both deliver good quality lights. Olight uses proprietary batteries and angry blueish LEDs. Fenix seems to have a bit nicer tints and can be used with common off the shelf batteries available anywhere. I have no experience with the specific...

Incoming - What do you have coming in the mail??

No haven't tried that. I just ordered the 4-pack of Sofirn 16340 batteries along with it.

Incoming - What do you have coming in the mail??

I think you'll be pleased with it. Received mine last week and it is a great little light. Really good value for the money IMHO.

What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

I ordered the new 2021 Foursevens Mini MkIII in mignight blue. Love the colour and interested in the Nichia 319A. It's still one of my favourite light formats when travelling light. It doesn't take up much space, but has enough power when needed. I still use each of my 4Sevens / Foursevens...

Will I turn into a Maglite fan once again?

I recently bought the Mag-Tac plain bezel (non rechargable) since it was on sale for real cheap. It doesn't have the output modern similar sized lights have (or smaller high power lights), but still the build is pretty good and the output is usable. I did not expect it to be, so it serves a...

darkest place you have ever been?

I have visited several (tourist) caves around the world by now where they often have that moment to show what actual darkness means. It's still interesting to see that total lack of light. The first one was at a young age in my home country in the abandoned marlstone quarries well known here. I...

how many lumens do you reasly need

It totally depends on the situation. When camping I rarely need more than 50 - 75 lumens. Late at night a firefly mode can be sufficient for a decent amount of tasks. When I'm alone in the dark and hear an ominous sound I can't place, 35000 lumen is barely sufficient :)
