Nitecore 21700 cold weather battery in my Fenix E35 V3. Questions…

Okay, yeah I wasn’t sure if it referred to the unit itself or the battery and the unit. That’s what had me confused. I’ll probably just order the cold weather 21700 just in case, and test it out on shift tomorrow. We are supposed to get some snow and some frigid temps. Might report back with...

Nitecore 21700 cold weather battery in my Fenix E35 V3. Questions…

Really? Well if that’s the case then I’m good to go. The coldest it gets here is -5F (~-20.5C). I just assumed it had the same cold tolerance as my E18Rs 16340 which struggled in the colder temps.

Nitecore 21700 cold weather battery in my Fenix E35 V3. Questions…

It’s getting pretty cold where I live and I suspect I’m going to need a battery in my E35 V3 that can withstand it. I work in EMS/Fire so I’m outside pretty often. It’s currently my backup (work) light and EDC light. I found this cold weather battery made from Nitecore here. My main...

Fenix E18R got a little too cold?

I live in a cold climate in Oregon and accidentally left my Fenix E18R in my truck overnight. Sat in there for 8 or so hours as ambient/outside temperatures got to around 30 degrees F. When I hopped in my truck in the morning, I noticed it was sitting on my seat and so I gave it a quick test...

What are your experiences with the Fenix and Olight brands?

I don’t have much experience with Olight (I only own one) but I do have a lot of experience with Fenix. I purchased my first Fenix flashlight back in 2012 and it still works as if it were new. I have also used Fenix flashlights in very cold AND hot climates with no issue. I can say with some...

    Comprehensive Grease and Lube Thread

That’s what I’m thinking (and hoping). I found one of my old Foursevens flashlights (it was sitting in a storage container for about 4 years untouched). Cleaned off the old lube and dirt with rubbing alcohol then used Superlube to condition the O-ring and help with water resistance. Hopefully it...

    Comprehensive Grease and Lube Thread

Just to double check, both Nyogel and Super-Lube are NOT silicone based, correct? And thus should not cause swelling or decay to silicone based O-rings? I ask because I was informed by the owner of Sofirn that his O-rings are silicone based. Thanks in advance

    What makes a light "EDC"?

Apart from the normal things I look for in a light, for me an EDC light has to have 3 qualities: lightweight, easy to charge (or easy to swap batteries such as AA or AAA lights), and compact enough that it won’t interfere with putting other objects in my pocket. So far my two EDC lights are the...
