Your reply is very helpful to me. I will use this flashlight in the day time to light up shadows on the forest floor. It's tough to get enough light in a tight enough spot to do any good...
All of the Oslon Black Flat LEDs seem to be between 5700K and 7000K CCT, so on the bluish side of white light

Does anyone know the beam angle of the hotspot with the XPG, XPL and guesses on the Oslon?
Or even a rough idea of the width of the hotspot at any distance you happen to know? Just tell me which LED, how far and hotspot width.

They're not nearly as small but for some they may fill the need or desire. Search for the new D4 or D1. Very high output with super small tubes for 18350 - 18650, infinitely variable and choice of LEDs.
The problem with indiegogo and probably kickstarter is that they take a pretty big chunk out of your cash. An indiegogo user told me he has to budget for the 16% they take off the top. Then there's the issue of taxes. I guess that depends on whether you have a business or not and your tax...
