A couple months ago I found a guy on the internet selling some Maglite bulbs, and claimed that he has hundreds of them. I visited his office and yes he did have hundreds of Maglite bulbs. I took all of them. Then I found that he has so many UKE flashlights and bulbs. All brand new. I took all of them as well. This guy claimed that he imported UKE / Maglite many years ago. Not sure if he was telling the truth. Since I do not have enough room in my home to store these I have to throw away all of the packaging / boxes.

I have been an UKE 2L user for many years and I am so happy with it.

I like the AAA penlight so much. It is very small and light weight and it seems brighter than a Maglite AA / AAA....

The Sun Light SL4 is a 4C flashlight, I got a few packs of Amazon C cell rechargeable batteries for them and they work really great. It is brighter than a Mag 4C Xenon and throws 200 yards easily. As bright as a Surefire 6P but throws much farther. I use it for hiking, even I have so many thousand-lumens LED flashlights. Runtime is about 4 hours with a pack of C cell (5000 mah) rechargeable batteries.

Unfortunately these are becoming rare and it is hard to get replacement bulbs, but I now have plenty of them.

Wow, you have quite a collection (although personally I don't collect anything, especially lights as they are just practical tools to me).

Anyway seeing your UKE 2AAA lights reminded me of Doug Ritter as he was a fan of them and used them in his own kits. He was a great infomation resource back in the day:

They will be great for bartering after the eventual solar storm (that will no doubt happen sooner than later) or EMP attack takes out all electrical devices.

Watch this and you'll realize you could be sitting on a gold mine.

Possibly the only working flashlights will be incandescent lights and HDS lights.

I do not collect tools either. But incandescent flashlights to me are different. I do not know why, maybe they are just too old or discontinued for decades. They just make me happy and remember the old days. I never collected a LED flashlight although I have many of them and I like to use them.

UKE! Wow! That really is some collection. I still carry/use the mini-pocket and 2AAA penlight, and have several others. This thread brings up memories...the 2L, 4AA, and others. I'll have to go and round them up.

UK400, uses 4D batteris. Big! Heavy!












UK C4, uses 4C batteries. It is much smaller and lighter. It has two bulbs (same wattage). I use this one more than my other incandescent lights because it feels so comfortable to hold this light.

Love this collection! I had the little Uke 2AAA one as an EDC for a few years. Took it on a family bus trip from NJ to Maine about 20 years ago. Excellent light! Thanks for sharing, this brought back memories.

I Just came upon this thread and got excited when I came upon references to the UKC4....I have 2 of them....both about 14 years old and virtually brand new..
Barely used....I collect a bunch of different lights...Both LED and incandescent...I digress....back to the C4's...when I turned them on a couple years ago to test them...the bulbs....original but not more than 30 minutes use....just went "poof"..instantly burned out....must have been sitting too long and just died....beautiful perfect lights...look brand new...basically are...
But dead bulbs and I can't find them anywhere...can I purchase a few from you to get these beautiful lights working again?...I did not want to buy the conversion kit to LED unless I was forced to....can you help me? Please advise and thank you.....I am brand new to Candlepower Forums....

I only have a few pieces spare bulbs for my C4 and UK400 (D4), and I am also looking for more spare bulbs.

It is a G4 4.8V bulb, about 5W. I am thinking...

1) using the Maglite 4-cell bi pin bulb but the pin distance is like G2.5, and the filament is lower than those G4 bulb. Maybe welding the pins to some longer and thicker pins...

2) Use those Macharger's bulb, but that is a 6V bulb.

3) Use those Panasonic JE3.6V9W-N LR001920 halogen bulb, which is a 3.6V G4 bulb. You have to expand the hold of the reflector and use one dummy battery and I am not sure if the light can handle a 9W bulb...

4) This may be the best option... look for another old / cheap C4 and you will get 2 used bulbs...

I like my C4 very much and I use it almost everyday. I think usually it does not burn off because of sitting too long. I have so many bulbs produced 30 to 50 years ago and they work just fine. New Xenon bulbs like these had better production techniques than those old PR bulbs so I think these may last forever. The reason may be using new Alkaline batteries? I use Amazon Basics C and D-cell rechargeable NiMh batteries and they work very good. I noticed that after charging the voltage of these batteries is usually a bit lower than Eneloop / Eneloop Pro (1.3x to 1.42V of Amazon Basics v.s. 1.5x V of Eneloop / Pro). I don't know why, but these may be an advantage for incandescent lights.

Thank you for your very fast and detailed response. I really love these lights....so well made....kicking myself for not getting spare bulbs back in 2009 when I could have....hindsight 20/20...I will try a couple of your ideas and also keep an eye out for a used C4... great thought!
Have loved bright lights and lanterns since I earned a 6v Delta Powerlight selling Christmas cards as a 10 year old kid back in 1964....still have it....works perfectly...mint condition...just love lights....thank you again.

Missed this topic the first time around. Always did enjoy their selection of colors.
