    Thanks, There seems to be some 'threshold' that is achieved on at some point, when the beam becomes bright enough to be seen easily. The original Cyclops is on the verge. The 35 watt HID modification seemed to have done the trick...perhaps the bluer light color and the much more focused beam...

    This issue is an old resolved one by now for sure, but just in case:...I did successfully design and build, rather easily, a 24" parabolic reflector for about $35.00 plus time...and I used a slowly spinning 'screed' shaped like a deep parabola to apply the final surface of Dry Wall Joint...
