The Malkoff Potential Group Buy Sounding Board

I would be in for a MD2, especially in camo or even like hunter Orange. but even a seemingly simple request like this could end up costing much more than a regular md2. Especially with all the head and tail combos.

Was there a reason he hasn’t done another run of camo Md2’s. I wouldn’t mind one in the new body style.

Anyone use these new fangled rechargeable 3v keep power RCR123’s. I just ordered a few for some guilt free E1T usage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t think there is a specific water resistance rating for MDC’s but I’ve definitely have submerged a couple. Not on purpose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So if I’m painting my 4 story house at night and drop my MD2 5 or 6 times on to the hard surface I’m still good. Lol. That light doesn’t need much. A lens replacement is $4 and a $10-$12 for the clicky and it’s good for another 7 tosses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nice video, I don’t understand it but it was nice to see newer Malkoff related content on YouTube. My little project is complete. This old MD2 is back up and running with a new drop in and bezel ring. One nice thing about having a legacy product like an MD2 is the support that comes with...

Thanks. I’ve yet to sell off any of my MD’s which for me is rare as I’ve been through a dozen MDC’s. These light age well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

On the MD1 (M61NLL) I use Keeppower 18350’s. On the MD3 I tend to just use higher capacity 18650’s. The 91’s have pretty good runtime on a single 18650 and once they start dimming just turn to low for longer usable light. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I prefer warmer tints and love the M91BW. For me it’s a perfect balance of power and tint. I use on either on a MD3 or MD1 body with high low rings all the time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. Yes those are nice. The older MD2’s do not have a screw in tail cap however. The body is a single machine piece. The Thyrm is big but it should work as it’s friction fit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had this in my parts box, picked it up for like $35 some time ago. Thinking of picking up a Thyrm Switchback as there’s no way of adding a clip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks guys. Look like I found a legit G2 and it’s on its way. I’m taking a trip to Central America and will be using it with an M60NLL and gifting it. Appreciate the response here. Btw I also have new M60NL on its way in from Malkoff along with a regular bezel to get this old md2 up...

So what’s the go to budget host for dropins these days. I see a couple of G2s listed on eBay for around $25 but I’m a bit hesitant as they ship from China and I know there are counterfeit Surefires out there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks like they updated the led on these too. The LED is a White (5700K) Luminous SST-20 or a Neutral White (4000K) 95 CRI Luminous SST-20. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just picked up an older Camo MD2 on the auction site. I think it’s a first gen as it uses a kroll switch. Are these bodies compatible with high/low rings and current MDX lenses? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    The Malkoff Front Porch

Just as an extra data point here. I picked up a Malkoff E2 scout head for cheap and put it on a spare 123 blem body. It ran for almost to full power on a olight 16340 650mah for 45min. I had to stop the test but the battery voltage was at 3.6v at the end. Not bad for a small 450lm light...

FYI. When I use a Malkoff MDC head on my Surefire E2E body I have to use a copper washer for it to work. You might not have the same issue but i use the 19mm one from oveready. https://www.oveready.com/flashlight/beryllium-copper-spring-washer/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
