Made a video of my budget lights

I was going to post this in the "flashlight reviews" but: a) I'm an amateur flashlight afficionado, not really "qualified" to review one b) these are budget lights made overseas and the reviews forum seems to be for the expensive stuff c) It's not really a review, I just saw a foggy night and a...

Want to design a 10,000 lumen underwater light ( Runs off 12v boat battery )

PM sent. These batteries are meant to be drained and are separate from the boat starting battery. 15 feet is plenty this is about illumination of a wide area in a short distance rather than long throw or direction.

Want to design a 10,000 lumen underwater light ( Runs off 12v boat battery )

That sounds great. I would love to talk to you about this perhaps on chat or phone. I am a quick learner. I can absorb more from one 10 minute convo than days of surfing forums gleaning info indirectly. I am thinking of a three sided enclosure, the top three sides of an octagon with two...

Want to design a 10,000 lumen underwater light ( Runs off 12v boat battery )

yeah, I think it's something I'll just avoid. Everything for boats is 12v, and probably for a reason. 12v can't penetrate the skin and therefore the current cant run THROUGH the body. Assuming no cuts/open wounds, etc

Want to design a 10,000 lumen underwater light ( Runs off 12v boat battery )

ok... scratch that , the CXa2011 runs on 40v... and it just occurred to me that wouldn't be safe under water in case of malfunction. Apparently 40v is the threshold of might be safe/might not. So if I could stick to something in the 12v range, that would be great. My post hasn't garnered much...

Want to design a 10,000 lumen underwater light ( Runs off 12v boat battery )

I know lots of people with low pressure sodium lights. I am explictly NOT interested in low pressure sodium lights. The housing will be stainless steel for salt corrosion reasons. The stainless steel can have an aluminum plate for better thermal dissipation. But as was stated, it's designed to...

Want to design a 10,000 lumen underwater light ( Runs off 12v boat battery )

I need to design an underwater light that will put out a true 10,000 lumens. Or maybe a 5000 lumens and make two of them. I don't care about distance. Anything more than 30 feet of underwater illumination is irrelevant. I need wide angle. Not brand new to the forum, but fairly inexperienced...

    Understanding MR16 LED lamps

ohh, that makes a lot of sense. The ones I have are 3x3 watts supposedly. so yeah, if they were hooked up in series, I guess they would use that 12v input quite nicely. I guess I just assumed they were internally wired in parallel and taking the 12v and reducing it to 3.7.

    Understanding MR16 LED lamps

Hi everyone, Ive had an account here, but I havent been on much. I don't have a whole lot of experience in this hobby. It's more of one of those things where I am not really interested in it until I need to build something, which isn't that often. For example recently I put ten NiMH cells in...

Do you have an opinion on a good match for a buck driver to be paired up with a SSC P7 and a 12v SLA power source?

What is your green light? I mean is it "green" color for attracting fish? Or do you mean something else?

Sometimes I walk, sometimes I use a boat, but either way I typically use a 12v SLA battery. When I walk, I pull it behind me on a float. I can tig weld and do think the aluminum tube would make a great heat sink.

Hello to all! New here, but have been reading the posts for about a week now. I have a "rusty" degree in electronics, but I know nothing about modding flashlights so all this is new territory for me, but I am a quick learner. Was wondering if you guys could help me out with a project Ive had in...
